Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel

Oddly, I liked not having cleaning services come through the room each day. Couple of things that would have made the stay better; kitchen/laundry was not equipped for a six day stay (there was a coffee maker but no filters causing me to by a package of 200 that i would not use during my stay, better instruction on disposing of trash, not enough dish washing soap or laundry soap), over the weekend was surprised to find visitors in the pool area that we not guests at the resort, do not believe that lounge chairs by the pool where cleaned or even hosed down but yet one towel was provided to guest that did not cover the lounge chair causing me to bring my own towel to the pool area to cover the chair. My family enjoyed our time in Key West and our expectation were met.

This place is amazing! Next time I am in Key West I will stay here again. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious at the hotel restaurant. There is a pool area where you can order food and drinks from either the bar or poolside. It's a short walk from the pool to the beach with chairs along the ocean. It's also kid friendly.

The property was great. Our room was very close to the pool, which was great for the kids. We liked having a kitchen and washer/dryer, as well.

We stayed for 6 days, here are the cons and pros for location: Pros: Free shuttle to downtown and airport facilities Chicken walk is good food and customer service(live music and fridays and Saturday’s afternoon. Tavern and town good food and customer service a little over price. The pier is Excellent for seeing mantees and other sea creatures at night. Pool open 24hrs a day. Bar closes at 830pm. Cons: This property is over price for the amount of money we pay I expected more amenities, more customer service No actually beach, but at least you can see the ocean. Parking is $25 a day Resort fee was $40 day Outside of our room it was a constant puddle of water, I let housekeeping and the font know and never was fixed. Our doors knobs were broken , again no resolution. I had request item 2-3 times( example toilet paper, towels, shampoo) Barefoot Billy’s dolphin and snorkeling tour was a waste of money, I saw more sea life at the pier than in the tour ( they offer the service at the Marriott) This was a family trip of 4. We stayed at a presidential suite for the week.

Ill start with what was good: Shuttles were free to duval street up until 11pm and were reliable Pool bar and food Excellent rooms Live band is good touch The bad: you have to “tip” for poolside towels The drinks and food were incredibly expensive and u couldnt bring your own from outside The beach is a despicable beach and the resorts name is called beachside resort but its literally disgusting and terrible you would only want to swim in the pool (i was naively mislead on this) Shuttles stop coming after 11 There is no free breakfast which was unreal for how much i paid. I have been to many other mariotts with free breakfast Water was so hard to get, you had to hassle the cleaning service for the water Too many little kids ruining the trip for me, i was hoping itd be more adult friendly The room numbers are all screwed up and dont correlate with signs There is a hidden 40$ resort fee Parking is overpriced Hot tub was a tad too hot

Our family of 4 had a great stay. I appreciated the washer and dryer in the room! Spent a lot of time at the pool but never felt like it was too busy to enjoy. We learned quickly that pool towels are not available until 9 am. So we dried a few in our room each night traded them the next day. Shuttle and water taxi were nice to have and easy to use.

The room was gorgeous. We then discovered only 2 washcloths! For a couple! At the price we were charged that was ridiculous! We did call and the staff brought us more. The bed was a disappointment. I have always recommended Marriott to my friends based on the quality of the beds. Not this time. We then went to check out the beautiful pool, which it was. The sign stated open from dusk to dawn. I made a comment to some patrons and they too were shocked. The man informed me it wouldn't matter because the pool was so cold no one could swim in it anyhow! Why would Marriott spend money to clean and filter a pool no one can use. We are from New York State, we do enough cold. The dock with a dangerous rope for a railing! How did that pass any safety code? No small children should be on that dock. You ask for my opinion and this is what I thought.
