Very nice accommodations for a family. Easy parking. Washing facilities, spacious rooms. Fun pool with lots of fun activities such as ping pong and a basketball game.

This property exceeded my expectations. So comfortable room spacious. We got a King bed suite with a sofa bed and we were able to acomodate 3 adults and 4 kids

We spent almost a week at The Laureate for a family vacation. We had two one-bedroom suites for our accommodations and it was plenty of space for five adults. Housekeeping staff and front desk staff friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. The only complaint I have is that we asked for check out to be one hour later for one of our two suites and we were told they don't allow for later (than usual time of 11:00) check outs. I was very disappointed they would not accommodate an additional one hour for one room after we spent almost $10,000 at their hotel. Even with full occupancy, I think our request for the extra hour should have been allowed.

Over priced little or no parking.. They had employees mopeds taking up parking for paying customers...Also I made a mistake and booked another date two weeks off and they would not refund or give me a partial refund.. They even had the gull to call me on that date asking me and texting me that they we canceling the reservation ( No kidding) I guess they thought that was funny...

Staff was very responsive and friendly. However, if you don't want your room to smell like a "baby spa" you definitely don't want to stay here. I used my cologne to make the room as well as my sheets/pillows smell better. If you are sharing the room with a friend, be prepared to hear everything when they use the bathroom -- the bathroom has a sliding door on the bedroom side! Can't hang the towels - no towel racks! Very limited closet space and not even a handful of hangers. There is only one elevator for the entire building which is frustrating at times. Also, the rooms are not very well insulated so you can hear your neighbor and smell what they are cooking. The building must have been an apartment building that was converted to a hotel. We would not stay here again. Rather stay at one of the places on Duval Street!

Excellent Place to stay with family. Conveniently located close to all shopping and attraction areas.

Liked - Ocean front, family friendly, amazing views, clean, modern, nice and friendly staff, stores very close. Did not like - not beach front, no option to recycle plastic in the room, small pool.

We booked a double bed but at check in we were pleasantly upgraded to a multi room which was incredible, we had family at another location which we invited to come and see. We also live in Clearwater and have past the Opal and Sands for years and never visited.

So rude at check in the guy actually said please don’t break anything??? I’m 52 years old not a child. I wrote a special requests , called also and they gave me a room right at the elevator after twice requesting to be far from elevator or high traffic areas. I’m a very light sleeper with serious medical issues. Was also unaware until check in this is across from ocean on the busiest road out front so all night loud vehicles and sirens. Then people screaming late at night and noisy very early at the pool area, Not sure how this got the reviews it had on customer service , we only experienced rude staff and excuses. Also something disgusting all over glass shower door and on the ceiling in bedroom area. Also smelled of cat in the room. We have no animals and bad allergies but they had no where else to put us they claimed. The door to our room slammed dangerously hard and very hard to get in and out without getting smashed in the door. Very disappointed. At $500 per night I expected a little more,

We had worse experience despite of paying $1100 for 2 night. Front desk staff is horrible. House keeping staff kept on knocking and opening door since 10:00AM on checkout day we could not even get kids ready. The shower was broken drain clogged. They harassed us every 5 minutes by calling, knocking and opening door they made us late. We got out at 11:50 AM. Front desk said they will charge for late checkout.
