Our family of 4 stayed in 2 rooms. I saw some comments about loud AC, but frankly we found the rooms to be nice and cool with good shades to block light, good insulation from street noise and the AC units, if loud, were more of a constant hum to drown out any residual noise. In short, it’s not always easy to sleep well in an NYC hotel and we did at this hotel.
The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had a few sudden changes we needed to make and they did their best to accommodate us.
The breakfast setup was basic but fine. We loved the fact that you could grab fruit, coffee and cold water on the go (or cookies) throughout the day.
The gym was decent and clean. Not huge with that much equipment, but it was empty each time I visited.
My only gripe would be the hardness of the mattresses. Again, I slept well, but after a few nights began to notice the mattress was harder than average.
Overall, good stay. NYC can be hit or miss on hotels. We were pleasantly surprised.

I love this hotel - it’s my first choice when I visit our daughter and her family. The receptionist is super friendly, the breakfast buffet is just perfect, the rooms can be on the small side (which is fine as I/we use it only for sleeping) (although sometimes more generous), it’s clean, quiet, and less than 2 blocks away from Mia’s Bakery!

We traveled to Brooklyn for a family medical emergency. The reception staff was wonderful throughout our stay. Ms Jewel and Mr Pranav were very helpful and accommodating. They honored our free upgrade and that made all the difference for our comfort over 12 nights. The rooms are not what I consider to be fancy but the L’Occitane de Provence bath items and the bath robes made it feel kind of luxurious. Recommend a larger mini-fridge where we can actually store our items for reheating, etc. The few items in the fridge take up the tiny space. The breakfast was sufficient with several options. Recommend a variety from day-to-day. We need protein to start off the day but hard boiled eggs, ham and turkey cold cuts and the same American cheese slices gets old after more than a few days. Scrambled eggs, cheese and vegetable omelet, sausage, bacon, etc., just change it up.

I originally reserved a “standard” room for two weeks, starting at the end of January; then our daughter started labor at 38 weeks, so abruptly needed to fly to NYC mid-January. When I tried to move the hotel reservation up 2 weeks, only a “deluxe” room was available-more expensive but fine for a 2-week stay. I spent some nights at the hospital and, later, at our daughter’s apartment (Grandma shift) and had no trouble sleeping during the day - very quiet and I grabbed 2 yogurts for later at the expansive free cold breakfast on the way to my room. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Fluffy towels and terry robes. Suds laundromat 1 block away. Excellent bakeries (Bien Cuit and Mia’s) and Exit 9 gift shop within 2 blocks. Did not try other local restaurants; we ordered room service once and it was fine. Room serviced every other day but more often upon request. Never checked out the exercise room. Only used Lyft; saw buses but didn’t use public transportation. We will definitely stay at the hotel on future visits to our daughter and her family.

My family and I really enjoying our stay at NU Hotel. Shops, Trains, Underground etc... were around. People who works there are lovely, ready to help and sort out if something happen. Easy to get to the centre and visit the Brooklyn bridge. The chaos for us was the breakfast it is a cold buffets and no many choice. I highly recommend it.

The NU Hotel in Brooklyn is our "go to" hotel when visiting family in Brooklyn. There is no place more convenient - very close to restaurants, shops, great strolls. The morning breakfast buffet is quite good... and an unexpected treat... coffee, tea, and cookies all day. The rooms are well-appointed, clean, and for NY standards - spacious.

Hotel is very well located but the double bed rooms are TINY. And the beds are low to ground which can be hard for some. Not recommended for a family if you need to spread out at all. Bathrooms are nice though!

I am born and bred New Yorker. Raised my kids in Brooklyn. I love the NU hotel. Funny story..I recently called to tell them that the print in room 229 was too aggressive for a single print in a hotel room. But that I didn't want any perks or apology - was just sharing my thoughts. The manager called back and said sorry you found the print offensive- I never said offensive by the way- she continued with "it is a by a famous artist named Basquiat." I didn't bother to respond. But it was obviously a Basquiat print but that has nothing to do with it being an appropriate choice out of the plethora of his works for a hotel room! Anyway it's a fabulous little hotel so long as the keep their pretension in check :)
