I prepaid for parking. Totally unaware that the self parking garage was down the street around the corner. So EVERY TIME I needed my car I had to take the ticket down to the service desk and then walk to my car. Doing that with kids and luggage was HORRIBLE.

I actually wasn't able to stay. We had a family emergency come up and because I prepaid they just said sorry and offered no refund or even allow me to switch the room to another weekend when I was going to be in town despite having rooms available. I'll never book with them again

River hotel was a perfect stay, room are up to date, beautiful views if the city had the River, Hotel staff very professional. Will recommend to my friends and family.

I never leave any review but this time I am obliged to leave one. I live in Indiana and I was traveling to Chicago with my 2 dogs...before booking the hotel I made sure it was PET Friendly but unfortunately it wasn't. Book 2 rooms, we arrived at 5pm, check-in and when we went up we found one of the rooms dirty. We went to the lobby and informed the staff that one of the rooms was dirty and they told us that the room would be clean in 30 minutes and it was a lie we had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes.. the neighbors in that room were making a lot of noise like fighting and the dogs felt very uncomfortable because of it, despite that we never complained. In the evening we went to dinner and I received a text from the hotel saying that my dogs were barking that I had to return to the hotel, I replied that thank you for informing me immediately we will return. 15 minutes later they sent me a message again with the same thing. I replied that we were very far away and that we would be at the hotel in 19 minutes. I even called them and explained the situation. When we arrived at the hotel they told us that we had to leave the hotel. My family and I feel very bad about that horrible experience. We had never experienced something like this in our lives. Please if you have pets and plan to stay at that hotel please don't or think better.

Checked in and the associate said he got us an upgrade with a bigger bed (actually two twins put together). Room was clean and sufficient for a stay in Chicago for the weekend. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the screaming children next door waking me up, but that's not the fault of the hotel.

Room temperature was 78degrees-81degrees our first night, front desk said they’ll bring a fan and apologized for the inconvenience. Hours go by temperature still uncomfortably hot for sleeping and still no fan. I call again no answer. Call again and get to leave a message on a managers phone no response back still.
Tv stopped working Engineering came and fixed it, 5 minutes later the screen went black, then it started working again then no sound.
Day of check out we got a letter under the door mentioning an elevator is broken and if the wait is too long we can walk down the steps to the 10th floor and catch the other elevator mind you there are 35 floors in this building. To go down steps with a suitcase, and an infant? No thanks. Would highly recommend you do not book here the staff will constantly feed you lies related to issues so pacify you.

Booked for 2 queens or full mattresses. What we got were two of the smallest mattresses I have ever seen - like a toddler bed. Also no vent fan in the bathroom. The room was SO small, like they took all their regular rooms and split in two for more revenue. Or maybe it’s just so old that that was common back in the day.
