Could hear music from the night club 11 floors away through the whole night. Many homeless camped outside door harassing guests. Wrong hotel for a family stay.

Upon arrival the front desk shared it would take 30 minutes to get our room as it was still being inspected. The coffee shop was closed and when we went to the restaurant, they said their kitchen was closed. We asked if they would provide us any beverages and they said no. We could not go to the top as the upstairs is only open to adults since it's a bar. After driving all day, we were hungry and tired and looking forward to our room. Our room was not available until an hour. We arrived to our room and the outlets did not work. There were earplugs which concerned us. There is a club right above our room which is open til 2a.m. They could not move our room as they were sold out. The room was clean, but the exterior felt like a filthy night club and the elevators smelled of pot. My children looked at the snack offerings and it was quite an embarassing parent moment - they found a tin full of condoms, dice and feathers... like I shared no a kid friendly establishment. The gym is super nice, but there is no pool. Upon walking into the hotel, the valet was kind. Our luggage was sent up to our room with an additional piece that did not belong to us. You can tell there is not enough staff at the establishment and everyone is extremely stressed - this definitely had an effect on the quality we are typically accustomed to when staying at a Virgin property. We were extremely disappointed - lack of sleep, only outlet that worked was in the bathroom.

My son and I stayed at the Virgin Chicago over the holiday weekend. I cannot say enough about the service. I received a nice welcome text even before I checked in. The staff was polite and happy to help with anything we needed. They provided excellent suggestions for food and things to do. The room was so cool and modern. There were all or the usual amenities and many extras that made it such a comfortable stay. The hotel gym was impressive and I can’t say enough about the chai at the coffee bar downstairs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, couples, families, individuals, who want a comfortable experience right in the downtown near the river walk.

THIS IS A HOTEL FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PARTY: The room is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The staff at front desk are polite and helpfull, except for one employee which was very abrupt and rude twice during our stay. We overall enjoyed our stay. However the major turnoff is the rooftop bar. At night it is crowded and brings all kind of partying people in the lobby. The lobby become trashy and you have to share the elevator with those people. The elevator become crowded and you have to squeeze with everyone. We were curious and went to the rooftop but it is definitely a trashy crowded night club. Very loud music. There is no service, you have to line up to order drink. They also serve drink in plastic cup… The coffee shop also serve you with plastic cup no matter if you order for here or to go… that is not super eco friendly. If you want to party, this might be the place for you. If you are travelling with kids or want to have a romantic getaway, I would not recommend.

As good as it gets in Chicago. Staff are not the friendliest. They couldn't offer later checkout. If you have a family, would find somewhere else. The location is amazing though. Walking distance to Michigan avenue, river and magnificent mile. Has halal guys right around the corner.
