I LOVED MY STAY and I loved my view! BUT I didnt realize this was 2 hotels in 1 building, so they share the breakfast buffet AND its ALWAYS packed with ALOT of families. Theres a bar and the happy hour is necessary because the cocktails "yes delicious" but your paying $16 for it. Pros: 1)Close to everything. 2)Amazing floor to ceiling view from the 16th floor. 3)Delicious cocktails, the guy who prepared the food was amazing and very highquality service at the counter 4)Water pressure in the shower was EXCELLENT and all glass so that was cool Cons: 1) Shower was AMAZING however there is a gap at the bottom of the glass shower when the door closes and yeah....WATER everywhere so yes you sacrific towels. 2) They dont do housekeeping everyday, they only do it if you stay 3 days or longer. The lady didnt do housekeeping on my 3rd day, she kept knocking the door for 2 minutes even after I said come in. Then she ASKED me if i needed service or not, put me in an awkward position, so if i wasnt here in the room, would I have gotten service or she would have left if nobody answered? 3) There are 2 seperate elevators just to get to your room. It was exhausting because you have NO CHOICE but to take both the elevators. Security precaution I assume thats why the lobby is on the 2nd floor. 4) This is the first hotel that ive been to that you cant get ice on your own. The ice is in a freezer in the convenience market they have on the lobby level. But you have to go UP AND DOWN the elevator

This was the best stay of a hotel that we experienced. My family was comfortable - we will make sure we recommend this hotel in a Chicago and stay there when we come back. Also, the staff were friendly :)

I had high hopes for a fantastic stay with my family, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by some unexpected incidents. While there were certainly some great aspects, I couldn't help but feel disturbed by the following issues:
1. Additional Fees Under the Guise of an 'Upgrade': To my surprise, I was charged extra fees for an alleged 'upgrade' during our stay. However, there was no actual upgrade of any kind, and I ended up with the same two rooms that I had already reserved and paid for in advance through Expedia.
2. Inconvenient Room Service: I faced an inconvenience when requesting room service. I had to place a request for the following day, and unfortunately, I was not offered room service on the same day, which was disappointing.
3. Unfulfilled Room Request: We had specifically requested two rooms situated side by side with internal access between them, but our request was not fulfilled. Instead, we were given two completely separate rooms, which didn't meet our expectations.
Overall, while there were certainly positive aspects of our stay, these incidents left a negative impression and took away from what could have been an otherwise enjoyable experience.

They were overbooked and didn't honor our booking from expedia telling that you have booked through 3rd party it was 12 in midnight then the manager arranged our stay at Hyatt. I need the whole money back for my stay as we were completely lost in the middle of night on where to take my family in unknown city

We got the corner room and the views are awesome! Booked online the day of and had no problems with anything. But what we didn't like was online said there was a pool here and the kids were excited to swim but no pool.

This hotel is perfect for families in a safe area. I recommend it and I would stay here again. The only thing that they need to work on is the valet parking. They do not answer the phone that they give you so we had to be calling the receptionist.

There was no housekeeping for the duration of our 3-day stay, which I can understand. My problem however was that we had a small child in diapers and when we set out our trash cans on the second morning to have them emptied, they were empty without any liner replaced. It felt lazy and passive aggressive. Also, the breakfast was terrible and very different from our last springhill suites stay. For nearly $300/night, I expected more.

We ended up staying at the River North Springhill Suites for about a month since we're in the process was moving. We didn't have a car so it was nice to be so close to downtown. It was easy to walk outside and find what you needed within 5-10 minutes. Staff was helpful and friendly. We were upgraded upon check-in to a corner room that we were able to keep the entire stay (extended a few times). We barely heard any noise from neighboring rooms. Housekeeping did a great job when requested. Breakfast was pretty standard but had good options. Breakfast staff kept food well-stocked. Large lobby area with plenty of seating and space if you work remotely. Main lobby was one floor up from the main entrance and elevators to rooms required a key card so it felt nice and secure. There's also security in the evenings which is nice for a big city in a busy are of town. Close to a fire department so sirens heard fairly frequently. Could here traffic noise even on the 17th floor but it wasn't bad considering you're in the middle of the city. Pets not allowed on the Springhill Suites side which was a plus since 2 of my family members have allergies, (but pets allowed on the connected Residence Inn side). Overall, very happy with our stay.
