Glunz Ocean Beach Hotel & Resort

Only an overnight but was impressed with the family-run hotel. Would definitely consider staying here if we came back down to the Keys again. Unfortunately, the bar/restaurant next door was closed the one night we stayed, but it looks like a good place to hang out. Hotel was right on the beach and beach was sandy.

What a great spot to be on the water and enjoying the keys. Everything close and super safe. Great for kids.

We love the Glunz Ocean Beach Hotel because it is a family owned resort that is family friendly and right on its own private beach. While we were there the water was clean and clear. The views were beautiful. There are two clean and well maintained pools as well as kayaks and bicycles for use of patrons. We also enjoyed the convenience of Havana Jacks restaurant and tiki bar right next door.

Mixed feelings about Glunz! We only got to stay one night but if we had had time I'm not sure we would have really liked to. The property was beautiful, staff were awesome. There's some signs of weathering from ocean air but nothing awful. The main problem was we splurged for a room which opened out right onto the beach (which was absolutely beautiful. I wish it had been warm/sunny enough to get in), and wanted to keep the sliding doors open but a couple of times someone was smoking somewhere and the smell came into the room and then was so hard to get rid of. Also for >$800 a night I wasn't expecting one of the chairs to have a large stain and significant signs of scuffing/wear. Otherwise very clean though. The restaurant could be a little loud but they stopped the music pretty early, and there was a really nice fire pit going for late-people to enjoy. The redeeming factor too was they sent a message requesting feedback and when I mentioned these things, I expected a usual "Thank you for comments we'll take into consideration etc." but it seemed like a real human being read them and responded specifically. So would we go back to Glunz? I think we would give them another try. Especially if they designated one building non-smoking or something. You can very quickly fall into relaxation and the peace of the ocean and would love to catch a better warmer week when kids could actually just run out and play on beach/water. The heated pool was excellent though!

Lovely location! Staff were all extremely nice! Grounds, pool and room clean. Could use some updates but we really enjoyed our stay overall! Nice to have a restaurant on property too! Food was delicious! Great for families, friends or couples.

Perfect place for our family to vacation. Beach, pool, restaurant/bar, room, parking all close to each other making for very convenient use! Kids loved beach and pool- especially the umbrella covered splash pad. Ton of seating and umbrellas outside rooms, on beach, and around pool. Use of bikes and kayaks nice options too. Beautiful sunrise from room. Very clean, well-appointed, and updated room. Very nice staff in office and around property. Pool was warm and crystal clean. Perfect mid-keys location that was quiet yet close to shopping in marathon and an easy day trip down to key west- but we were so happy to be staying someplace quiet, fun, and memorable. Thank you a Glunz family and their team!

What a nice surprise it was to find this gem of a place, my wife and kids loved it. The place have bikes and kayaks that you can use for free, amazing. Will for sure return.

It is a lovely place for families with the beautiful beach and pool outside your door. I thought it was very expensive, but I guess everything on the Keys is. It would have been nice to have coffee mugs to use with the Keurig, instead of paper cups. I also prefer glasses to plastic cups, especially when drinking wine. However they made a gift of red or white wine, but no wine glasses were provided unless requested. It would have been nice to have bottled water provided in the room. And since the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesday’s, a list of nearby restaurants would have been helpful.

Great place for a family stay

We stayed a few short weeks after hurricane Ian and the resort was beautiful. They made us aware before our stay that some construction would take place during our stay. They were quiet with construction and did their best not to disrupt guests. Our room overlooked the ocean and beautiful view! The beach was well taken care of. We could use the kayaks and paddle boards owned by the resort. Our children had fun playing on the beach and searching for seashells and animals! They had sand toys available for the kids to use as well!
