Residence Inn by Marriott Richmond Short Pump At The Notch

What a fantastic hotel and staff. We had plenty of space. My family said, "Wow!" multiple times as they walked through the kitchen, living room and bathroom. We were so impressed with the surrounding area. What a nice place to stay. We highly recommend. Breakfast was ok. Front desk staff was outstanding!! We will plan on stopping again as we travel south from NY.

I chose this property for my daughters birthday so that she could go swimming with family and friends. Suite 514 had a random shirt on the floor, and the bed had stains on the sheets. We called down to get new ones and had to go get them ourselves from the front desk at 11:24 pm. We also walked down to the pool just to find out it was closed and wouldn’t reopen until the next day (which was checkout for us). We were all extremely disappointed in the service. That was my first time at this hotel, and expected much more than I received.

I'm very upset about the money I wasted staying here. I asked in advance for a quiet room away from elevators or stairwells, etc as I was doing a Live online training. I live locally but have dogs and kids at home. I paid more for 2 queen beds so that I could stretch out and have clean sheets daily. Upon check in I discovered that they didn't have queen rooms available but because I was in a hurry to get to the online training I agreed to take the room offered! They called it an upgrade and wanted to charge Me extra for it. I refused and the front desk associate just handed me a key card after another front desk person removed the upcharge.No words until I asked her where the elevators were located. Got to my room and immediately had to jump on a zoom. Unfortunately they put me in a room at the end of the building 50 ft from the on/ off ramps for the highway so air brakes were all I could hear for hours- as did anyone I was on a zoom with. Later My phone dropped between the bed and I pulled the mattress away a bit only to reveal trash, including a used condom, behind the bed. At that point went downstairs and told the front desk what was going on. They moved me to another room, but didn't tell me it was another king room, again not the 2 queen bed suite that I paid $20/night more for. The manager said - as a start I can give you marriot points equal to a nights stay. Well when I looked those points were useless. Hotels.com tried to get them to refund and they refused.
