Canopy by Hilton Memphis Downtown

Stayed with family for three nights. Great location in downtown Memphis, our room was comfortable with good amenities. Staff was either exceptional or very disengaged - we had a very uneven experience in that area, but overall it was fine. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in downtown Memphis.

I wouldn’t recommend the Canopy by Hilton for family or friends. Simply because of the staff. I’ve never witnessed a poorly mismanaged hotel like this one. It’s as if all of the departments in the hotel don’t communicate to one another. 2 hour wait times for check-in (after 4 PM by the way), 1 hour wait time for lunch at Curfew (the in-house restaurant) while there were less than 10 customers and at least 4 servers, among the lack of hospitality. I’ve never felt more like a bother than I ever have in this environment.

Mrs. Ida was exceptional with GREAT customer service. We experience several families waiting to check-in. Mrs. Ida was very attentive to everyone with a motherly sweet soul. We will definitely stay at the hotel the next time we visit Memphis.

Loved the hotel . Loved all the music details on the hotel as well as the room . Right across the street from The Peabody for the grandkids to go see the ducks .

The staff was so pleasant & professional, yet our room was not very clean. We were asked if we wanted housekeeping & said yes. We stayed here for 3 nights & 4 days, housekeeping did not show once. We went down several times & asked if they would please come up to refresh our room. Very disappointed that was not taken seriously. I will not stay here with my family again.

Stayed here for 10 nights with my mum. Overall a pleasant stay but let down by a couple of things. The hotel itself is beautiful, from the entrance area to the room. The staff are also all very friendly. The hotel is also just a short walk to Beale street and all the entertainment that entails. The hotel however is let down by housekeeping. During our stay we never had an actual room clean, despite being there for the 10 nights, even after contacting front desk the night before to request. We never received clean towels unless we asked for them, despite leaving used ones outside the room. Our bin was also emptied once after leaving outside the room but taken away instead of putting back. Therefore had to ask for another one. Toilet paper also had to always be asked for. I also feel with the price paid for the hotel, it is a little unfair to ask for such a high service charge for having a drink in the bar area. One other slight negative was the noise outside from motorbikes and cars. This however is no fault of the hotel, as any hotel downtown will be the same. I would consider returning to this hotel as I am planning another trip to Memphis at some point as I love the city and another family member is looking to come for their first time, but housekeeping does need a little improvement.

We chose this property to stay for our family trip. Ms. Ida is an absolute JEWEL of a person and she PERSONALLY made our stay excellent! She made us feel right at home! The best service we have experienced! The remaining staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. The rooms were clean and tidy, and we liked the fact that you needed a key card to proceed beyond the lobby and use the elevators. Great safety feature! The valet service is excellent as well! The only drawback was the rooms do not have microwaves if you wanted to warm a snack or warm leftover food. Overall our stay was fantastic and we would definitely recommend this property.

This is a nice property and overall my family enjoyed our stay here. My only complaint is the showers were nasty. I had to move to another room because the shower had orange coloring/dirt and grit in corners. The new room that they switched us to wasn’t that much better. It was still gritty and dirty- at least it wasn’t orange though. Everything else was pretty clean. Nice room decor.
