Really nice themed property. We were fortunate to receive an ADA room and had ample space for a family of four. The staff was exceptional and we would absolutely stay here again, if the opportunity arose.

I loved the vintage vibes of this place. Everyone was super friendly and even though we didn't bring our fur kids, I appreciated that they were pet friendly.

It was OK but there was no wifi in the building, and no TV. So if you're like me on a work/pleasure trip, you'll have to use the data off your phone to run your laptop. Also the TV only had a few channels and the kid they sent up to "fix" it just flipped through the channels for 10 minutes before telling me "you could just cast off your phone" but since there's no wifi... that doesn't work. No offer to accommodate or get $ back. The rooms are nice but haven't been properly cleaned in months. Thick layer of dust on all baseboards and trim.

So the restaurant was closed, there is no service to the room, the bartender was extremely rude and refused service to my child and I when we tried to order food through her, no minors allowed except in the lobby, no fridge or microwave, and the heating went out so we were terribly cold. They said they would have the resort fee- which shouldn't exist at all. Never going back again.

If you plan to stay here, do not bring your vehicle. The private parking garage for the hotel is not safe. They have a ticketed entrance but no security or cameras. Our car window was smashed out and items were stolen. Several other guests informed me they had the same issue. Very unsafe area. The hotel staff were of no assistance and all they did was give me a piece of paper to complete to file a police report. GUESTS of the hotel who witnessed my concerns were amazing & courteous and assisted me with my bags & offered their apologies. Would be beneficial if the staff was as warm & helpful as their guests! Its a shame because the hotel itself is vintage & decorated beautifully. Rooms are not quiet. Could hear the guest next door talking all night & doors slamming. A lot of stairs, so if you have a disability I don't recommend. Upon leaving we noticed suspicious people around the hotel watching guests come and go and following them across the street monitoring where they were going. We will not stay here again and do not recommend to anyone until the city of Portland starts taking care of their community and their families.

This is a historical building, every review should take that into context. I slept like a baby, everythig was clean, and breakfast was pricey but exceeded expectations. It's competitively priced, perfect if you are older and appreciate architecture and ambiance.

DeLuxe is an old hotel with a lot of history, it’s been renovated and the atmosphere is great.
There was no bellman and the lift was not staffed, getting our luggage to the room and getting the baby’s stroller in and out was a hassle. We had to carry it up a flight of stairs every time. I’d expect more from a hotel that’s supposedly four stars.
We stayed in one of the suites and the air conditioning wasn’t sufficient to cool the living room. The bedroom was fine. It was 100 degrees out so perhaps this is not typical.

We chose the Hotel Deluxe based on its history and the "Classic Hollywood" theme and it did not disappoint. I stayed in the original Mallory Hotel many times as a child and the new owners have done a lovely job of refurbishing and renovating while preserving the qualities which made the Mallory a destination stay back in the day. My partner and I are big fans of old Hollywood movies, so having production stills from classic movies projected on the wall of the lobby and framed on the walls as we made our way to our room made us feel right at home. The room decor was attractive and the room itself very comfortable. Our only criticism is with the room prep, which was adequate at best. There was barely any shower gel in the dispenser and only one coffee bag for 2 people for multiple nights. Other than those minor shortfalls, it was a very enjoyable stay and we are hopeful that we are able to visit again soon.

I moved away from Portland and was visiting family. I had drinks in bar nightly and had great service and food! ordered room service for breakfast daily. It was the best breakfast ever and when I realized they served Oregon strawberry freezer jam... I knew I was home! Impeccable service as well.
Thank you for a great visit to Portland ❤️
