My family and I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms were large and comfortable. It was conveniently located near shopping and restaurants. The staff was friendly and efficient, with Alex being particularly helpful assisting with our reservation. We booked four rooms for a family vacation, and everyone is excited to return to Portland again and stay at this hotel.

My family and I loved the Mark Spencer Hotel!
The area is beautiful for walking, tons of shopping and dining options.
The only con (which is not the fault of The Mark Spencer) was the homeless everywhere. But it is Portland and is to be expected.
All in all, we had an amazing stay in the Master Suite!

Nice, modernized, boutique like hotel that is either recently renovated or very well kept. The double queen room was very spacious and the mattresses really comfortable. My kid who is 5'7 and who chose the pullout didn't like the springs but slept fine on it in couch mode. We didn't really use the kitchen, but noted the builtin twin hotplate and pans supplied for next time (in addition to the microwave and "full size" undercoubter fridge). Water pressure in the shower was exceptional! Staff were great all round and also found us a tower fan for white noise, as we forgot our box fan that our other kid needs to sleep.
Like other cities, Portland has a homeless population but we never encountered any trouble. People are just trying to survive in a nationwide broken system.

This is a beautiful hotel, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The quiet was astounding, considering the prime downtown location.
The room was gorgeous and immaculate. Temperature was easy to adjust and very comfortable, beds and sheets were luxurious. We didn't need the kitchenette, but it was great to have the suite with the couch and chair for reading after our visit to Powell's. We stayed here years ago with young kids, and the suite was great for that.
The elevator from the parking garage was out during our stay--not a big problem for us, but I don't think there was an alternative for anyone with mobility issues. The espresso machine in the lobby was also broken. This was a problem only for the 1 minute it takes to get to one of many nearby coffee shops. The complimentary drip coffee was top notch, and I don't usually drink drip.
Secure underground parking with in and out privileges was a bargain, and much appreciated.
Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Housekeeping is on-demand only, like everywhere else these days, and we actually prefer that. Also appreciated the QR code for tipping.
We visit Portland for fun (great beer, food and live music) every few months. Efforts to clean up downtown seem to be starting to work. Despite a serious drug and homeless problem, we feel safe walking all over town. We have great affection for this city, and we can't wait to visit again in spring!

I loved everything about the inside of the hotel. We were traveling with two teens, so we rented the King Suite. We had what felt like our own little "room" separate from the kids. I'm a picky sleeper but the bed was pretty comfy and the curtains did a good job of blocking out the light. The staff was incredibly wonderful, probably the best Ive encountered for a hotel. We really enjoyed the free wine hour in the lobby and felt safe enough to leave our kids in the hotel room while we had a little adult time. The location was convenient and we walked around everywhere! Of course there were a lot of homeless people in the downtown, but that is not the hotels fault. They gave great recommendations for nearby food. There is paid parking in the basement of the hotel but it's pretty tight, so don't bring a truck.

Stayed for just a few days right after the new year and we had a very nice experience with this hotel.
We're a family of three (2 parents and a younger child) and we chose this hotel for the kitchenette in the room and the separation between the bedroom and living room area. Staff was friendly and helpful, area was great for food and exploring.
Overall, we had a great experience and would stay here again.

Our time was wonder just our room was freezing. Called the front desk and they said they had an issue with the heating system and would help warm our room up. Only putting the temp to 70’ when it was freezing outside, having a huge window, it just didn’t take the child’s off. We took many of hot showers to warm up. Other than that, the staff was amazing, the place was clean and decorated perfectly. Loved our room design, the toiletries and the bed was sooo comfortable! We will definitely be returning on our next stay in Portland. Thank you!

We loved staying at this property with our family and 2 dogs. Staff were welcoming and lobby was a great place for our impromptu zoom meetings before our room was ready.
The room was lovely with plenty of space for us and our pets. Close to Powell's books and yummy food. We've already booked another trip back!

Nice family-run hotel, well located downtown, nice room and good service that handled all of my requests. I stayed in 4 hotels during my Oregon trip and this one seemed like the best value.
