Hotel was very nice. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was ok, not much choice and limited seating. We used the metro to get into NYC in the morning, but didn't feel safe with kids to walk back from metro at night so got an Uber.

Stayed at the TownePlace Suites on F-S-S for a mini-family reunion and couldn’t have been cared for better than these folks took care of us. The staff is delightful and cheery, very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful…. Really like the mini-waffle maker (looking for the one for home now lol).
Other than the excellent staff and accommodations, the really important thing to me is the shower and it was fantastic!!
It is near a lovely river front park just a short stroll away with a fantastic view of the Queensborough Bridge. Near the subway….that we took into manhattan and out to Coney Island!! We played cards on the rooftop with a great view of the bridge and lovely breeze on a hot day.
Thank you all for making my stay and mini-family reunion a relaxed and enjoyable event!!!

The property is surrounding a low-income area. I did not feel safe with my family walking in late

I'll start on a positive note. we stayed in the hotel for almost a week. the room was nice and clean after our arrival. staff was nice and helpful. however, there are some negatives that I can't rate better than 3 out of 5. the biggest problem is the location. just a few meters from the hotel there is a neighborhood that is not safe. In particular, if you want to use the subway, you go past queensbridge houses to the stop. It's not a big problem during the day, but it's worse in the evening. along the way you meet people on drugs and at the metro station you must avoid them. Since we were with a baby, it was really dangerous. it was my third time in NYC and it was the worst location for me from that point of view. I definitely do not recommend it for families with children. we often had to ask for room cleaning. We always left the room after breakfast and when we returned in the afternoon, nothing was cleaned. But they always cleaned them after our request. breakfast was a bit poor. however, what surprised me was the serving on paper plates with plastic cutlery. how much waste will you create this way? it's disgusting and not ecological. I couldn't do anything with it. The porcelain plate and stainless steel cutlery would be better. I felt like I was at a bad barbecue. I was really disappointed with the breakfast. The hotel is otherwise nice, so if you don't stay for long and don't use the metro, you'll probably be satisfied.

We stayed here as a couple for a 5 night break in NYC. We chose to stay here based on affordability, location to Manhatten and the website listing showing spacious rooms.
We read a number of negative reviews about the hotel, largely down to the local neighbourhood. However, this did not cause us any problems or concerns at all, despite coming back very late.
The hotel staff were excellent, particularly Christina and Edgar who were very friendly and attentive.
The rooms were spacious and spotless and had everything we needed. The bed was was huge, and super comfy.
The breakfast was always well stocked with what we wanted, fruit juices, coffee, hot breakfast, make your own waffles, bagels etc. The kitchen staff were also very helpful.
Would we stay here again? Definitely. Would we recommend to friends and family? Definitely.

What made this property a big plus was the staff. It started with Crystal, the assistant GM. I flew in on a redeye and was distraught because of a death in my family. Crystal made me feel cared for and ensured my entire experience was top-notch. I have spent two decades in the healthcare industry and know the value of customer care. I hope Crystal is valued and recognized for the extraordinary person she is.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline

Clean modern hotel, nice hot breakfast and the rooftop view was a treat. Appreciated the friendly and professional front desk staff and nice layout of our room. Very clean. While this hotel is not in close proximity to a subway (but we used uber for the most part anyway) and is in a more industrial/isolated area (but we did not intend to spend a lot of time there as we were visiting family in Astoria and Manhattan), would definitely recommend it to folks who want quality accommodations and can be flexible in terms of transportation. Very reasonably priced for an NYC area hotel but with a solid positive experience you’d expect from a Marriott.

I am sorry but very bogus experience. In future We need to think twice before booking via Hotels. Com unfortunately. They sold our booked room to higher price . Upon reaching we got shocked when we were told to find other hotel at 9.30 pm. We reached from Canada and with family. Elevator was not working for two day. Breakfast was hand to mouth. Very poor cleaning service. What else need to describe. Our suggestion is to Hotels.com is not to keep this hotel in their list.

Absolutely loved this place. Arrived at 8.30am with three kids in tow after a red eye cross country flight and not only did staff member Christina check us in straight away instead of the usual 3pm, she offered us breakfast as well. The staff went above and beyond during our stay. Breakfast was the best I’ve seen in 3 trips to NYC. Room was spacious and quiet. The suburb is not the greatest but the location is one stop on the subway into Manhattan so not a big deal at all. We never felt unsafe.
