As some other reviewers mentioned, lots of signs about "rules" like no taking breakfast up to your room. (I have two small children. I'm taking breakfast up to my room. We always clean up after ourselves and don't leave a mess.) It didn't really matter though as breakfast wasn't very good. Pool was closed for maintenance when we got there and they said it would be ready the next morning. It did seem to be open the next morning. Large shower in our room was a plus. Mattress was very very firm. Quite a bit of road noise.

Front desk is terrible. Charge and nickel and dime for everything. Proximity to KC downtown and city is not bad. The hotel itself was VERY clean and nice, breakfast was great. Amenities were good too. The Indian staff front desk was absolutely awful! They charged for every little thing and were extremely rude. I would not come back but we did enjoy our stay because of the nice hotel and breakfast. Quiet area for families and not many drunkards and partying going on.

The only thing I wasn’t pleased was the swimming pool. It was very dirty and bleachy . My kids and I got sick from just being in the environment. We had like coke and flu symptoms coughing runny nose sore throat. I recommend lowering the chlorine and cleaning the pool more.

Was so disappointed in the pool. It was cold and dirty. As soon as you walked into the room the pool deck was soaked with at least a couple inches of water. There were lots of very loud kids in there from the same family. The pool was also really small. The people upstairs were like running around for hours during the day, stomping loudly. They did a bit late at night but we use a white noise machine which blocked it out. The coffee maker in the room was gross with old moldy water in it but when I told the front desk guy he IMMEDIATELY brought me a clean one so that was nice. Overall cleanliness of the hotel was great. Comfortable bed too. Check in was a little annoying because they were helping us and the started helping another person who came in to check in after us and I feel like they should've finished our check in first. I would stay here again though if I needed to

Rules can regulations and cheapness were very apparent. Breakfast was a joke. Out of most things. Literally took things as a family was trying to get their breakfast.

Hotel was clean. But other than that all negative! Slippery tub, no one at the front desk during peak hours, management did not control 2 large groups in the lobby with many unsupervised kids who were ruley and very loud. The adults were drinking alcohol excessively!

So it could have been worse. The hotel felt safe and everything that needed to work worked (hot water, drawers and doors, air conditioning, key cards, elevator). We were put off by the number of signs scolding guests about hotel policies. For starters: - Service animal fraud is a crime - Pool for guest use only; visitors charged $45 per person per hour to use pool - no taking complimentary breakfast items to rooms Also worth noting their no-nonsense charges for violating their policies: - $350 for violating non-smoking policy - $750 for violating no pet policy None of these applied to us, but it made us feel like an inconvenience instead of guests. We were also not impressed by housekeeping. We had clean sheets and the furniture and bathroom surfaces had been wiped down, but the details had been missed: the toilet paper roll was empty when we got to our room; the little lotion bottle was half used; there were children's handprints on the window (and not from our kids); the wall by the bed was filthy (see picture); there were crumbs around the edges of the furniture that had been missed while vacuuming.

At check in argued that name was not in their system for one of our family then OFFERED last room in hotel for almost trouble the price of our agreed prices when booked 2 months ago. Called/ stopped us next day in lobby and said they found the name and since everything matched up with the other names gave us the price as the same as the other rooms and said there would be a credit for higher amount. Shower drain didn’t drain very well at all, tub spout wasn’t attached too well and moved in and out 2 inches while shower was on. Picture was handing off hooks and we put back together and straightened. Light by bed for reading came off when switched on. Dead bolt lock on our room door was broken and would just spin around we used the little metal bar that was also on the door to only allow the door to open a little if the main lock didn’t hold.
