Booked a night at a hotel for the sole purpose of having a pool for my kids ages 5, 5, and 7 to swim. Checked in at hotel, no sign in the lobby regarding the pool being closed. Went to our room, changed into our suits, then headed to the pool to find a sign on the door that it was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. I immediately returned to the front desk to express our disappointment and to ask what can be done to remedy the situation since the pool was the only reason we even got a hotel room. I was hoping maybe we could just transfer to one of the other two AmericInn hotels within the area so that the kids could swim. Front desk worker was less than apologetic and less than helpful. He said he couldn’t do anything about the situation nor was he willing to let me speak with anyone who might have some authority to remedy the situation. Very disappointed overall.

This is a decent hotel. It needs a bit of TLC in my opinion. There appeared to be moisture issues in the bathrooms of both rooms that we had for this trip. Aside from needing a bit of updating and the moisture issues in the bathrooms, it was exactly what we needed. Our room was very large and gave our big family lots of room.

If you are looking for a place to stay that isn’t extremely expensive but a decent hotel this is the place to go. We aren’t well off enough to stay in the better hotels in the area, and have tried all the decently priced ones. This is the only one with a nice pool and hot tub that isn’t disgusting or always closed and hearing “it should be open soon” or that isn’t well maintained. We go to Rochester a lot due to a medically needy child and from eastern Iowa. It’s the only place we stick to within our budget now. The staff is very friendly and always welcoming especially to my young children which I love! Definitely will always be my go to place!

Definitely not the traditional “AmericInn Experience” that our family has come to know and love. In general, the rooms and pool area were quite small. The quality of the continental breakfast was the most disappointing.

This hotel was great. It was immaculately clean! The room, the hallways, the lobby area. Hot breakfast was great, especially the pancake machine for little kids. The location was quiet and an easy drive from our event in Rochester.
