Quality Inn & Suites Mayo Clinic Area

After reading the Expedia reviews, I booked this hotel for my child and I. When we arrived at 9:45pm and drove into the parking lot the exterior appeared unkept and disheveled. We felt unsafe. We walked in and asked the hotel clerk to see the room before checking in. They obliged. We went to the room and it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and was musty. We immediately concluded that we could not stay here. We walked back to the hotel clerk and they said that we needed to get a refund from Expedia. Unfortunately we had to find other accommodations at that late hour. The next day I contacted Expedia. They said they needed to contact the hotel directly and unfortunately the hotel refused to give a refund. Expedia never issued a refund either. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

I had a great stay. The front desk gal, Brittany, deserves recognition for her kindness because I was on the second floor and she brought my things up without me asking her. She was amazing at checking me in and out. I was impressed with the size and efficiency of the room. We have been in Rochester many times and could have used the space. We will definitely come back as a family when we come down in the summer.

My mother and I loved this place and it was perfect for a little weekend getaway to explore Rochester. Room was clean and very spacious (with a kitchenette and sitting room area separate from the bedroom) and the location was quiet and easy to get to. Service was good and efficient, breakfast was nice and had good variety, and beds/pillows were extremely comfortable. We will be recommending this place to other family members as the quality of our stay was wonderful and the price was fantastically reasonable. Would highly recommend, especially for adult travelers.

There is no elevator and being on the second floor with 2 kids and suitcases and car seats, it was definitely hard to manage. The first room that we checked into was smelled awful, the carpets were very dirty, with visible stuff all over the carpets. Also on one of the walls by the sink, there appeared to be a bunch of blood on the wall. Also lots of nicks and chipped paint all over the room. After switching rooms, the second room smelled better, but the over all condition was similar. The only good thing was how spacious the room was.
