Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City Overland Park

The hotel had been recently renovated, and was a fantastic place to stay. Very clean, and staff were very friendly and accommodating, would definitely stay again! My only complaint at all is that the heated pool wasn’t heated enough. The kids were cold while swimming and they shouldn’t have been.

We booked a hotel that was advertised as having a working pool. Once we checked in we were informed the pool has been closed for renovations for days. We specifically searched for a hotel with a pool as we had 3 kids with us. The front desk told us we can drive 3 miles to a sister hotel and use that pool….it was -5 out after i got off the phone with the front desk. How stupid are you all to send people out with swim suits on in that cold weather. I was told a manager would call me in the morning and discount our stay. No one has called and i was charged the full rate. So more lies. Very shady place. Hallway smells like paint Exposed electrical outlets in the hall so that is a huge safety hazard for kids around. One of the bedrooms jn the double suite we had was hot and the other was cold. The beds and pull out couch were as soft as a sheet of plywood. The breakfast was lacking.

Staff was friendly, hotel was clean. A/C in the room wasn’t able to cope with the heat, and the floor joists between floors are wood instead of concrete so every time anybody in the room above you walks, you are blessed with a sound like a toddler with wet hands rubbing an inflated balloon, all…night…long!

Would have been much better if the employees children were not in the pool and at breakfast. Very annoying.
