ACME Hotel Company

Last week, We went on a family trip and had booked a double queen bed room several months ago. On the day of our stay, we were shocked by the view from the room we were assigned. The left window faced the inside of a parking tower, providing a literal parking lot view, and the right window showed a blocked building interior with a bizarre sculpture hanging. We didn't request a room change at check-in because the front desk female clerk was unfriendly, We just decided to stay in the room for the night. We will not be staying at this hotel again.

Surprise mini fridge and microwave in the room! No complimentary coffee available or water or any snacks or room service available- not a big deal as so many food options nearby, but more FYI in case checking in late and expecting something. Cafe downstairs. Trader Joes a block away!!! View was not good as looked into a parking garage but we were out all day so didn’t matter. Blinds closed at night and it was SO quiet on a Saturday night so maybe that location helped with the noise. Street view might be louder. Booked two double beds and room was huge and had a desk and two lounge chairs. Would be great for families. Had a ceramic flying pig and a globe. Wood floors which I prefer. Funky music theme with fun decorations and records in the elevator. Location fantastic Shower great! Only one elevator worked so had to take 5 flights stairs with luggage because had a flight to catch - lower floor better if going in/out lots and don’t want to wait. Beds were fine - not too hard and fairly new. I have had much worse but if you are used to high end mattress and nice bedding you might be disappointed. This is not a luxury hotel and I don’t think they claim to be. I will definitely stay again! New Avec Restaurant about ten minutes walk - one of the best in the city.

It was a renovated building with both character and class. Appreciate the architecture and historical nature of the property. It had very adequate sized rooms - certainly limited in size due to the constraints of the “period of time” nature of the building, yet very well designed and functional. Not your typical hotel property, but unique in a “good way”. Would definitely recommend for adults, but perhaps not an ideal property for families with young children.

My husband and I booked a King room for our 19th anniversary. We got to town earlier than check in time and they offered to keep our bags for us until check in which was great. We were able to walk most the way to the pier which is about 1.7miles from the hotel there are also several Divvy bike ports around. Food options are everywhere near the hotel as well. When ready to check in we were greeted by the "doorcierge" Jerome and boy was he off the hook awesome... He upgraded our room to a suite for our special night and had a ton of information on the area... Directed us to amazing food places and authentic Chicago life. Really our experience was along and I would highly recommend for a couples stay. I would probably avoid for family stays as the atmosphere is a lot more intimate and the amenities were limited to adults in my opinion. Great place!

Very nice boutique hotel in a great location. I would recommend to family and friends.

I picked this property based on the proximity (walking distance) to my training class at the Gleacher Center. The place was affordable and I wasn't looking for any extra amenities since I had to pay for this out of pocket (not business expense). The bed was great and shower. I stayed two nights and would recommend coming back here for a personal trip with me and/or my family.

Amazing staff and Vibe, the staff is helpful and hilarious. They made my family and i fell completely comfortable. We originally planned to stay for a day as we are digital nomads and extended our stay for 10 days. Easy walks to amazing amenities, such as grocery stores, movies, dining etc. House keeping was amazing and accommodating. All the staff if Chicago Natives so they know where and where not to go, great places to visit. I think they should do a reality show, every time i came through they were laughing with guest like everyone was family and friends. Great place, we will be back through on our second leg of our trips.
