This was a last minute overnight trip to Jekyll Island to take family photos, and after reading the other reviews, I picked the Hampton Inn and Suites. Check in went smoothly and the staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel is beachfront, and has a beautiful boardwalk leading to the ocean, but be prepared for the two sets of stairs. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was provided, as well, and was very tasty! I would definitely stay here again!

The property is getting ready to remodel starting in Sept 2024.
A handicap person cannot get to the beach. They need to be more ADA qualified. Too many stairs and no ramp to get to the beach. Hotel said they would take you to another part of the island. I could have stayed in the at another hotel with beach access. The hotel needs to check for an ADA grant to install a ramp at each end.
My family got to see the beach and go on it I did not, that's why we went.
That was very disappointing for me.

Quick weekend getaway with family. Has nice pool with access to the beach but must be able to climb steps to get to beach area. Car charging station complimentary. Had everything for complimentary breakfast. Rooms were big and clean.

We have stayed here on and off for a number of years. The location does not have handicap accessible path to the beach and this has become more difficult for my parents. The food is always decent for what it is. The pool is very well shaded, allowing most pool time in morning or afternoon to be somewhat cool. Love the walk in style pool, it's great for kids who aren't amazing swimmers. Most of the staff are pleasant, including the bartenders. Unfortunately, we will NEVER be staying here again due to the abuse of 911 committed by the front receptionist upon our check out. Due to the fact that they had limited carts for luggage, after breakfast, while one of us was packing, our teenage daughter was allowed to supervise our younger toddlers in their hi-chairs at the end of breakfast. While I packed and my husband scrounged for a cart. The front receptionist called 911 and lied to them, saying we abandoned our children for an hour. As a matter of state law, they were in the custody of family member legally able to watch them all day, even though we were only getting the car loaded they had proper supervision! Talk about atrocious anti-family behavior and horrible customer service.... The trooper who showed up was literally like: you called 911 for what? He seemed at a loss for words. As a first responder and military family, the actions of this staff member clearly indicates that your hotel is NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY. FINE, WE WILL TAKE OUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Racist????

The horse flies near the pool were terrible & bit my children up. The pool seemed a little dirty, & the hotel room we were in could use some updating. The staff was friendly though.

Well first off we were not given the room we selected or paid for, which was 2 queen beds, instead we were given 1 king and a pullout sofa. Also a handicap room, which was not accommodating with our kids, due to the shower being just an open space and the floor wet, one of kids slipped (which I told the front desk) and the kicker was the pool was closed. We travel a lot and my kids said this was the worst ever.

This was my first vacation with my little family, and because we had a 2 year old and a 8 week old so we were very nervous. My husband and I were presently surprised with how kind everybody was. The food was yummy, the room was nice, and it was in a good location to visit the other parts of the island.

All things considered it was a good spot to stay. Downside: it's expensive and with the heavy foot traffic it's difficult to keep it clean, the beds were just ok and they do not have a restaurant on site. On the upside it's very kid friendly, family friendly and safe with an easy walk to a secluded section of the beach. Overall, not bad.
