Shephard's Beach Resort

Plenty of restaurants near by. The staff and security were too much. We simply wanted to show our 13and 14 year olds the beach. We showed up and checked in late. The security guard was a complete jerk. Instead of telling us where we could walk to get to the beach he just talked down to us and made sure we knew the rules about kids past the curfew time. The next day we tried to throw a football at the pool. Instead of being nice and letting us know the kid was a jerk as well. Ease up guys! People are on vacation and having innocent fun. Relax!

Worth every penny! Be advised this is a ENTERTAINMENT RESORT, so if you're not into loud music and commotion through the day and mostly night then this resort isn't for you. But if you are then this is the perfect place! Everything you need is on the resort, drinks, food, beach activities so much to do! Resort was walkin distance to shops and other restaurants but also had a trolley stop right in front so transportation around the town was easy. All in all amazing trip!! I would definitely come back with or without kids

Very nice but beware they don’t allow any drinks of any kind being brought to beach area. Can’t even have bottled water because they want you to buy from them. Not feasible with a large family.

There should be a bold disclaimer in their ad that states loud music will be blasting into your room until midnight, every night! If you are a night owl then probably not an issue, however if you go to bed early or have a baby this is not the resort for you.

Loved this resort. I read some negative reviews, mostly around the volume of the music... I wasn't there when those reviews were written but I can say that my experience does not align with ANY negative review of any type. From check-in to housekeeping to food and beverage to valet, we didn't have a single issue and so I highly recommend visiting Shepards on your next trip to Clearwater. As a point of reference - we are 50's / 60's in age and traveled without children. While there, walk next door to Jimmy's Seafood restaurant (not part of Shepards), grab a seat on the wooden patio overlooking the water and ask for Momma D to serve you. Then sit back, relax and enjoy some great food and an even better atmosphere.

It is a very Nice hotel! With good service, and wonderful live music. We have toddlers and Little childs with us but the music was okay , you van hear it in your room but we loved it!

This resort is very noisy. The bar area is open to outside guests making it very busy. During both nights of our stay there was a live band right outside the pool area playing into at least midnight. I would not pick this resort for family with small kids.

My family and I loved our stay…so much to do, fun atmosphere. We loved the live music!

Nice resort but bring your earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Music can be heard in rooms until midnight + It appears many families come on vacation here, with parents, children and grandparents. A good time was had by all young and old.

LOUD, LOUD, LOUD !! This hotel has a night club that plays LOUD music Every Night from 10 pm to 2:00 am. Our room was located on the 4th floor and the music vibrated our hotel walls and shook the floor Every Night, Mon- Friday! Then the drunk guest would walk up and down the halls yelling and slamming doors. We NEVER SLEPT all week!!! The room walls are very thin and you can hear all your neighbors talking, shutting cupboard doors and kids yelling. The hotel is beautiful. You have to valet park your car every time, there's no parking lot or parking ramp. The hotel is clean and rooms are very big. It's just VERY LOUD EVERY NIGHT !!! I would never stay here again, and I travel a lot.
