Great location, clean, and safe! Walkable and functional. Came here with my family with kids and loved our experience. Great that there is a grocery store very close by as well. We loved the rooftop pool.

Crazy homeless people frightening my family outside hotel. Felt very safe inside the hotel. Hot tub and pool were very clean even with large crowds in the afternoons

The Hotel was clean and close to the pier (walking distance). However, the parking is Valet only and run by third party.it cost $46 a night to park. We could not use our Marriott Bonvoy benefits on the parking. The internet was down, and this was difficult with three special needs children. The dining is represented incorrectly. There is no dining just a small to go cafe that you order from. Mainly microwaved pre-made meals. We were a family of 5 and could not get a roll away bed. I asked for at least two blankets so we can sleep in the chair and they said they would have someone bring them to our room. After 3hrs I went down to the lobby to ask for blankets. At first I was told they had no extra blankets nor sheets and “sorry for the inconvenience “. I said that was unacceptable. I was told a manager would come to speak to me. After waiting 40mins a maid came down and said she delivered some blankets already. The manager never came to talk to me.

We had a great stay ! The hotel is fairly new & very modern. Extremely spacious and perfect for our family of 4. We had a balcony & the best part was it was a privet balcony. You could not see the people next to you which is great. The beds were comfortable and we had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Love that they have a Starbucks downstairs! The location was great. It is in front of a metro station so there were some homeless in the area but just watch your surroundings you’ll be okay ( & maybe don’t be out after 10pm ish). A few blocks from the pier & great restaurants. We will definitely be back when in So Cal.

Valet was very rude. The hotel was very noisy irritating 😠. Even inside my room I could hear kids screaming and very disturbing. I went to relax not get anxiety. During dinner restaurant was next to the pool with screaming children under 10 years old. Dinner was ruined

This isn’t really a good location for a family vacation. It was touristy in every sense of the word. In addition to large crowds and people experiencing homelessness, there was a metro station across the street that was loud. The hotel room was large and while it had “amenities” they were very bare bones and not what I expect from Marriot.

This property has a good location HOWEVER, be advised there are a lot of transients in downtown Santa Monica and I don’t think this fact can be avoided regardless of the hotel you stay. As far as the hotel, the pool is photoed to be much larger than it is, it’s small in terms of length and width and goes to about 3.5 ft, good for kids but for adults who want to really swim, probably not the best. More than 1 family at a time in that pool is overcrowded. The hot tub bubbles did not work which was a let down because that’s the only side we could/ hoped to enjoy. As for the room, my biggest complaint and why I will be choosing a different hotel my next visit is the mini fridge. It smelled terrible, so much so that it disrupted my sleep from the odor that seeped out. My process at every hotel is to hit high touch areas with a Lysol wipe again. When I get around to wiping the fridge the smell that crawled up my nose was nauseating. It was that of food that had been left for weeks or perhaps leaked out to the drain pan and was never cleaned. The fridge itself didn’t have any thing left in it but clearly it needs to be throughly cleaned. It was like a bacterial rotting food smell. I closed the fridge closed the cabinet it was in and it still made the room stink. Luckily I bought room spay that I had to use constantly to avoid the scent. Had to use my cooler for food and drinks. I called to the front lobby in the middle of the night to voice my complaint, was never compensated.

Great hotel within walking distance of the Pier, Beach, Shops and Restaurants. Busy street but noise not an issue once inside. Cistomer service provided was excellent despite an issue with our room key. Would come back again and would recommend for families.

This hotel & several others in the area, are in a dispute with their employees. There were protesters outside the hotel from 7am-10pm every day! They banged on drums, made noises through these trumpet things & shouted through amplifiers. All day long!! Until 10pm. The hotel staff onsite was amazing & did everything they could, but we were awoken every morning at 7am to these protests right outside our window. Apparently these labor disputes have been going on since the summer with no resolution in sight. It made for an extremely unsettling & exhausting trip for my family. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel until they reach an agreement with their employees.
