The Garland

Great hotel and in terms of location for Universal it was perfect. Bar, restaurant and public areas all excellent. Hotel is close to the freeway so you can hear that a little even though the windows are well double glazed (and very clearly when you open them) and the aircon is incredibly noisy, kept us awake a fair bit. Pool area is lovely but not well supervised, on our last evening the hot tub was dominated by 2-3 families with toddlers eating, drinking and even jumping into the hot tub. Luckily we could use the adult only hot tub, but with better supervision this would not happen.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was awesome, a few too many kids for us but otherwise perfect.

It was a great family oriented hotel. Very clean and updated. The pool, patio and restaurant very good. We liked the movie at the pool while kids were watching a movie and adults could have a cocktail at the patio bar. Cozy, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff outstanding, helpful and always with a smile. We will be back again.

Since i walked in the lady with the Mexican lady with big cherry nail and wan we walked in she had a upset face. Like if she was bothered. Was super rude and didn't even what to help my family and i. They gave my reservation away and put us in a room with 3 kids 2 male adult. I loved coming here with my family and friends. I guess no more

Property was really nice.Loved the store. The front staff was friendly and helpful. The pool was nice. Loved the Adult Spa! It was private and relaxing and didn’t have kids splashing you in the other spa thinking it was a play pool. I didnt go to the dive in movie but that's really great you do that! The lobby bar we ate at because other restaurant wanted a reservation even tho it was early and there were a bunch of tables open...anyways I made a reservation for breakfast and we went to the lobby bar. Food was good, had a nice waiter until he disappeared for a while and we didnt get no refills and we were done waiting for over 1 1/2 hour for our check.I asked another server and still didnt get our check. Finally our server came back stating he was sent over to the pool area. Well thats fine but the hotel should of put someone else in his place. The guitarist was good and nice to listen to. The room was nice with a balcony view. The trolley was great! Great that you have shuttle service to Universal.

Great family hotel with pool and dining on site. Close to universal but a bit out of the way of other sights. Would highly recommend.

My new regular spot in LA to stay. Although there are lots of kiddos so know that ahead of time.

Always enjoy my stay at The Garland. It’s my third stay in a 5 year span and I am never disappointed. Very dependable all across the board. My kid loves the pool and my wife and I enjoy the poolside bar and the food.
