This is a lovely hotel in Bolton. We enjoyed our one night stay while visiting relatives. We are a family of 3 and the room was large enough, clean and comfortable. We plan to stay again in the future and use the pool and other facilities because we did not have time this time. We did not eat at the restaurant (a bit expensive).

This was the dirtiest hotel I've stayed at in the UK thus far. Checked in late with my family after a long day driving. When we woke the next morning we were greeted to male bodily fluids on the bed, blood on a chair, faeces dried on the front of the toilet bowl and black mould covering the net curtains. We packed our bags and left immediately. Went to reception and spoke to the manager on duty about the state of the room and getting a refund, as we were supposed to stay 2 nights but didnt even make it 12 hours. She seemed shocked by the photos we provided and said it wasn't their standard, but numerous reviews online say otherwise. She said she would refund us. Was a very disappointing stay and it is quite unbelievable that a hotel that was truly rated 4-star would be kept in such a state. We would recommend that you do not book this hotel, and have a serious read through of all the reviews BEFORE you book. Don't make the same mistake as us. Our only regret is that we didnt notice the muck before we slept in the room. It was a horrifying experience.

Nice big family room, on ground floor as we had a pram but still 4 steps to get up to the room. The room was clean, stain on bed sheet but looked to be nail varnish so cant fault hotel on this. Bathroom was big and clean. Nice hotel lots of little shops on site. We attended a weddings there, which was beautiful, well staffed throughout the day.

Booked a cottage room and was given a family room with 4 beds . Carpet was badly stained . Evening meal and breakfast was good but slightly over priced. 3 scoops of ice cream in a bowl £8 !!! Breast of chicken £18.95 Staff were all very pleasant Charging guests £30 for use of pool and spa which isn’t mentioned until you arrive in your room . Probably avoid a future visit .

We stayed at The Last Drop Hotel as a large family group for a get together. The staff were accommodating and sorted out a mix up regarding our dinner reservation without a fuss. The food in the restaurant was very good. We also made use of the pool and spa facilities which were great. All in all a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Booked this hotel as last minute little break due to the depressing weather in Scotland. The bad news was the weather in England was just as bad, the good news was this little hotel was excellent. Ok, it wasn't so little, but it was run exceptionally well with friendly staff, what you would possibly expect from a family type business. The rooms were fine, very clean, slightly old fashioned but in keeping with the surrounding country style feel. The restaurant was lovely and buffet style breakfast had everything you could hope for. The hotel itself is set on large grounds and had a cute traditional toy shop and tea room at the rear quarters. Importantly for my family the spa, gym and pool were excellent. The outside heated pool in particular a real treat however was for 16s and over. This I understand but to the disappointment of my 12 and 7 year old girls. Overall, a refreshing break at a perfectly suitable hotel. Ideal for commuting to nearby attractions based in Blackpool, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and Bolton itself. Bromley Cross itself is beautiful area with lovely houses and nice walks should you wish to stretch your legs. All in all, have no problems in recommending this hotel whether your purpose is for business and pleasure.

Positive: Building itself, staff at the breakfast area and Rhodri at the reception who provided excellent service are the only positives I can say about this place. Negative: Had booked the hotel for stay with family but had to call to cancel within a couple of hours of booking due to a close relative passing away. Was told cancellation was not an option regardless of the situation, so opted to change the date instead to avoid wasting all the money. Was told I'll have to pay extra £30 on top of £179 paid for one night stay. Even I tried to emphasise on the reason for the change of date, was told to either pay the extra amount or loose the full amount so agreed to pay. When checked to see if the extra charge was due to the price increase on the alternative date, on their web site I could book the same room with exactly the same options for £5 extra so it was clear they have taken advantage of the situation and didn't care that the only reason I had to ask for cancellation or alternative date was due to a death of very close relative. I have the proof of that since I know they will lie to say alternative date was going for higher price. Customer service at the spa/swimming pool is shocking too. The young guy at the reception of the spa doesn't know a thing about the customer service and wouldn't say hi or welcome you. Went to the pool with 2 young kids (under 5 years old) an hour before their closing time and were told to leave 10mins before closing time in a rude way.
