We only needed to stay in Old San Juan for one night to get the experience of being walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, etc. But this property looks very nice in their profile, but in real life isn’t as nice. I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s very convenient if you want to be jn Old San Juan, but it’s not very family friendly.

Nice location with comfortable bed. No noise protection between rooms, had a toddler next door start playing at 3am and the parents did nothing until I knocked on their door telling them to be quiet. Expedia Platinum will get you a $6.99 bottle of wine. Very nice staff

Lovely historic property, and very interesting decor made this a hit with our family. The coffee machine is wonderful! Would be much better if they had dining options, or at least offered their roof top bar during the week. The staff was mostly friendly and kind. Very convenient to everything in OSJ.

From check in to the check out, the staff treated us like family. I really felt pampered, and that they really cared! Our room 301 had a magnificent view of the cathedral.
It was air conditioned and the king bed was just the right amount of comfy.
We particularly loved the rooftop bar, which became our hideaway.
I couldn’t recommend this more.
We don’t necessarily jump on the American style 4 star hotels, and prefer local owned and managed places that contribute directly to the local economy.

We had a wonderful stay at the Decanter. The staff was amazing and so helpful and kind. We were down there for our son's wedding and had several rooms. What made the stay even more special is that we were able to connect 4 rooms through interior doors. The rooms were spacious and the suites offered two separate
sleeping areas. It felt like we were in a huge apartment with lots of bedrooms. They had refrigerators, coffee makers, iron/ironing board and hair dryers in the room although the amenities list on the website didn't mention the iron or hair dryer so I almost brought my own.
There is a wonderful rooftop bar where you could see the amazing sunsets. There is a pleasant courtyard on the first floor. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it a really nice hotel, large rooms, great staff and super convenient location in Old San Juan. Lots of restaurants in the area, including one in the hotel. Especially great if you are traveling in a group or with family.

We had two rooms and both were nice, clean & comfortable. One room was for a couple & the other a family of 4. The staff was very helpful with information, restaurants & arranged for us to get a cab back to the airport on a very busy celebration weekend. They also held our luggage for the day so we could tour the city. The location is excellent for walking all around Old San Juan & seeing the sites. The roof top bar was lovely at night.

Hotel was clean and the ambience matched the old San Juan vibes. Stayed with my family of 4 (two boys) in one of the family suites for two nights. Overall fantastic. Clean, spacious and really close to major sightseeing areas and great restaurants. Coffee kiosk a block away was perfect for a quick breakfast. Rooftop bar is a must. Great bartenders with craft cocktails and a wonderful view.

We split our time first in OSJ, then Condado - Decanter was a PERFECT spot for my fam of 4. The foldout bed gave the kids their own space, plus the rooftop bar was a nice pre-dinner spot. We loved the character, the views, and the kitties. Absolutely would stay here again.
