Residence Inn by Marriott San Juan Isla Verde

The hotel is located in a good area. Very close to restaurants and a market, which was nice since it has a full kitchen. The pool was nice and I loved the bar area. They even had live entertainment on the weekend. The kids pool is awesome and the staff was great! Very friendly and we hardly ever had to wait! The reason for the 4 star rating is our room smelled of mildew and cat urine, and stayed quite moist. The breakfast was nasty, and food was overpriced, and the beach was a 15 minute walk. Not exactly across the street. Overall we had a good stay here.

We had a very nice time with family.

I had to constantly request house keeping from the front desk it was only once a complaint was made that they began to come daily as they are supposed to. The pool was absolutely filthy. It’s great they allow drinks and food by the pool but ADULTS clearly have no sense when children are in the pool and leave their trash around the pool area and even in the pool. I had to go to the pharmacy to get eye wash for my kids and sister as they went into the pool and all of them came out with eye irritation. There was a strange film in the water that I saw standing over the pool. The filter around the pool area was loose and my sisters foot got stuck in it and she fell. I wouldn’t stay there again.

The hotel is clean and kid friendly the pool area is nice and relaxing my kids had a ball! Marisol handles the front desk well she’s polite and extremely informative the hotel restaurant breakfast and burger isn’t too great but my youngest enjoyed the tenders lol the wait time was a bit long for the food and the choices are limited however there are more restaurants within walking distance from the hotel parking for guest should be free but it’s not it’s 19 dollars a day and there should be a better method used for the meal credit that’s charged during your stay someone charged drinks to my room at a time that I wasn’t even in the vicinity and during checkout I had to wait for them to go through tons of receipts from that night to Verify that it wasn’t me who signed for it luckily it was squared away prior to me leaving other than that I enjoyed my stay and would definitely book again and recommend to others!

Rooms, services and staffs were excellent. Overall we enjoyed our stay. It was walking distance to the beach and plenty of restaurants in the area (walking distance). Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Highly recommended wether for business or a family trip, which I did both this trip!

Very family friendly

On the one hand the hotel was well kept and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The check in process was very quick and easy. The bed was comfortable. The room had a nice little kitchen. On the other hand, I was freezing the whole time in the room because the a/c was locked to not go above a certain temperature. I get it’s hot out but the use of a/c was excessive and made it very difficult to relax. We mostly didn’t want to hang out in the room. Even though our family of four was in a king room they did not anticipate we would be needing to use the pull out couch. We assumed the bedding would be in the closet but there was no extra bedding whatsoever so we had to go to the desk to get the bedding. There were no pool towels out—-ever. I managed to get one towel for our whole group on one trip to the pool otherwise we had to dash to the room wet and cold to use our bath towels. The window to set up the room key for parking was a like a mirror so it was very unclear what to do or if anyone was back there. The person who helped me was very friendly but why wouldn’t you have a window where you can see and speak eye to eye with the attendant?

Brand new hotel with suites great for families

Our flight got cancelled so we had to fly out the next day. They didn’t refund the night was weren’t able to make it. Then we get there and step off the elevator and it smells like heavy bug spray. Went into the room there was mold furniture. The couch was stained that’s the kids were supposed to sleep on. They room smelled of mildew. The shower sprays all over the bathroom. We left and came back hoping the smell would be better but it wasn’t. So they changed us and rooms but on the same floor. And it smelled like they sprayed a lot of perfume. The front desk came up and could smell it too, so decided to move us to a different floor. It was better there but the next morning we woke up and there was a roach on the table. The carpets have stains as well. And we had paid in “full” but then we get there and they say there is a $40 a day destination fee. We had no idea about and on the original booking we had paid a $280 destination fee. Met another couple in the elevator and they said they had to change floors and rooms because of the smell as well. Would not recommend to anyone. A major let down.
