ibis Styles Amsterdam Airport

Close to airport and free shuttle service was nice. Family room was big in size. But at the time of booking, it said that there would be 2dounle beds but on checking in we got a double bed and a bunk bed which was not very comfortable even for the kids. There was no basic beverages like tea coffee etc in the room which was very surprising and substandard for a hotel of this size. Breakfast was tasty but minimalist. Coffee machines were not working and hence had a bit of a wait for the staff to make coffee from the counter machine which was taking time. In other words, wasn’t good value for money even by IBIS standards.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to Schiphol and easy accessibility. After waiting for 40 minutes in a scrum at the airport, the bus to Ibis was dangerously overcrowded. It started on time the next morning and then broke down on the way to the airport. The bus driver didn't communicate except to tell us all to get out in the middle lane of a busy road and to walk with our luggage and children across all the lanes of traffic and then 20 minutes along bike paths towards the airport in the distance. Those of us with less luggage and no children helped the more burdened, but not a good way to start out a trip.

We returned to Amsterdam for our return flight home and stayed at this hotel. The beds are horrible! They are so hard. I woke up and was unable to stay in bed because my hips hurt so badly. My friend said the same thing about her bed. When taking a shower I was only able to turn the water on about half way. There is a two inch plumbing pipe directly under the drain essentially covering the drain. This causes the bathroom to flood. The soap dispenser in the shower had been watered down. The main lights for the entire room were the only light sources were the exception of a tiny light beside the main bed (we were in a family room). I do not recommend this hotel. The area this hotel is in has just a couple of eating options and no stores.

Clean, quiet, comfortable for a family of 4

When we arrived we were welcomed by reception who kindly told us the restaurant would close soon and to order food before going up to our room. We approached a waiter and asked for a menu and he rudely told us to wait after 10 Minutes of being ignored we went up to our room. As it was a bank holiday weekend all shops had closed so we couldn’t order from out. Our children had to sleep hungry after a long flight. We woke n left early so we could go to the airport and get food for our children and ourselves.
