Hotel Dell'Opera

I'll start off by saying that the location was great! Close to everything! The service however, was not good at all. We were not greeted kindly by the one person who was there for our stay at both check-in and check-out. We could only suspect that he was not a fan of Americans. We tried to make conversation and be friendly but he was not interested in welcoming or getting to know us at all. He was rude and we felt uncomfortable at the hotel. Our luggage was lost by the airline and our flight was delayed so we arrived late and didn't have any phone charges to use for European ports. We asked if we could buy one nearby. He simply replied that it was too late. He had three nearby the counter and didn't offer to help especially due to the fact that we had children with us. We will not be staying here again. The hotel is very quiet - no restaurant or bar within the establishment but plenty to do nearby.

Great visit to Venice. Hotel is in a fantastic location. We had a family of 6 in three rooms all were clean and well maintained with excellent air conditioning that can be adjusted by talking to the front desk. It is possible to get a water taxi right to the front door of the property. Desk staff very helpful and informative. Breakfast was fantastic with eggs cooked to order. The canal this hotel is on was pretty quiet (mostly gondolas) but in the center of everything and walkable to everywhere you want to be.

Excellent location to all main attractions yet tucked back enough to avoid crowds. Room was large and very comfortable for family of 4 people.
