The Flora is a great family run hotel in a great location in San Marco area of city. Staff was exceptional and catered to these poor Italian speaking Americans exceptionally. Truly a great little boutique hotel and authentic Venice experience.

Small family-run hotel only a few minutes walk from the Grand Canal and St Mark's Square. If you're looking for a swimming pool and room service this isn't the hotel for you. If you want a small, unassuming, friendly place in an ideal location then look no further.

This hotel was chosen for its location - close to the vaporetti stop Giglio, close to St Marks and the centre of Venice. We enjoyed many many walks from the hotel on our four day stay. The hotel is an old family building and naturally the rooms are small. Initially this was a shock but we found everything we needed, just a bit tight. Had we stayed longer a chest of drawers would have been useful or even a table with drawer or two. The bed was sumptuous, the bed linen divinely smooth. The shower was hot and excellent in size and there were generous amounts of luxurious towels and free toiletries. We had useful air conditioning and the room was very quiet though next to the lift on the second floor. The breakfast was lavish, with much home-made in the hotel kitchens, the smooth coffee was piping hot and frequently topped up. The staff were utterly charming, helpful, and patient with my faltering Italian. We would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel Flora.

This place is AMAZING! I highly recommend Hotel Flora. It is easy to get to from the Giglio water bus stop and is in a very nice area of Venice. It has amazing ambiance. A wonderful courtyard and beautiful rooms and bathrooms. Very clean room and comfortable bed and bedding. The family that runs the hotel is so accommodating and friendly. The breakfast is awesome and included in the room price. We will definitely go back to Hotel Flora.

If you are looking for a new high tech hotel... the Flora is not for you. If you are looking for a perfect location and excellent service then this is a perfect hotel. Quaint rooms, lovely garden, sweet and savory breakfast and a bartender who is also an excellent chef for a light dinner is offered for guests. We stayed here 17 years ago and found the Flora to still be a family owened boutique hotel

The Flora is perfect - comfortable, friendly and unpretentiously attractive and cosy. The magical courtyard garden is a haven (and the breakfast served there is excellent). You can tell it is family run and the staff are brilliant. The attention to giving good, well judged advice on Venice (including how to avoid the tourist traps that abound in the city) was superb. Special thanks to Gioele for his help.

We loved the atmosphere and overall service. Everyone was very welcoming and treated us like family. The lounge area was especially comfortable and the breakfast was quite tasty with something for everyone. All in all if we ever get the chance to come back to Venice, Hotel Flora will be our go to!
