Hotel was fairly clean & New! however, there were dirty footsteps all over the walls from the garage, up the staircases… not sure if it was a “style” or… The elevators were broken, stuck. Had to walk up flights of stairs, with children & luggage. The cards they gave me did not work for the garage as mentioned…causing a hold up while I ran back to the front desk. There were no sheets for the pull out bed. Dirty neighbourhood. Many homeless.

No parking left at arrival. Had to walk 5 minutes. Room not cleaned for 2 days even if front desk was advised. Breakfast included are the best point. Parking of the hotel is hot like hell and very dirty. Neighborhood of this hotel is not family friendly.

This hotel is clean and convenient. It is a 10-15min walk to Byward Market and 20 min walk to Parliament Hill. The surrounding area is a bit sketchy, there's a community hub down the street, so try to avoid those areas if you have young children, lots of homeless beggars and druggies hanging around. During our stay, we enjoyed the free breakfast, it had a great variety, very busy around 8-9am. The elevator broke down during our stay, so it wasn't great having to wait for the elevators for 20 mins with a stroller and toddlers, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again in the future!

Overall, pretty good stay. Same level of comfort, service and quality you'd expect at Holiday Inn locations across North America. Parking will be an issue if you don't reserve ahead of time, so be sure to do that if you need a spot. While the location is good in terms of accessibility, it's close to what seems to be a homeless shelter. If you have kids or a family, I'd recommend against walking around, especially at night.

There were 3 rooms immediately surrounding ours where children (8-10) had complete freedom for a birthday party. Security addressed these children however they did not stop slamming doors, running between rooms and yelling in the hall through the evening. The ‘fix’ was to move us (this was our second night) instead of moving the problem or kicking them out for being disruptive to other guests

The staff at the dinning room are respectful and polite. Readly available to assist and are child friendly.overall the staff that we encountered from checking in and maintenance where kind and polite.
