We enjoyed our stay immensely. On arrival we were offered a paid upgrade to a suite, which proved to be well worth the money. The accommodation was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is in an excellent location for enjoying Victoria and its sights, amenities, bars and restaurants. My only caveat on the accommodation is the noise from the road and from the bars and night club within what is essentially an entertainment complex. The nose was particularly bad on Friday night due to the night club, exiting and entering the hotel required stepping over homeless people and a queue of people going into the night club. This probably isn’t a situation I’d feel comfortable with children, as a couple we were a little anxious. On Saturday and Sunday there is a roof top bar which plays music to the wee hours…. The hotel houses a blues club on a Sunday afternoon which was very enjoyable and the food from the “pub” the Sticky Wicket was good value and great. If you can cope with the noise the hotel is great value, I wouldn’t book it if you have a young family.

Staffs not welcoming aside from one Filipino that assisted us. Room given was beside the bar which operates until 2pm. Unlucky us..party was held during our time in there and so loud and hard to sleep. We complaint and need to vacant almost in the middle of the night and given a different room that has a noisy bathroom door. If you want a relaxing vacation, specially you have a child, I won’t recommend this hotel.

Stayed here family day weekend with the fam jam. Was really impressed. Super cute suite. A little bit noisy at night time but it wasn’t bad at all. Fridge had items from previous room guest left inside. We needed a travel crib they provided but I should’ve checked if it came with a mattress as it’s just a playard. I assumed it did but that’s my mistake. Not very comfortable for my baby but we made it work. Happy they provided it so we didn’t have to bring one. Parking is across the street and down the block not far. Would totally stay here again. Everything was nicely updated. Looked even better than the pictures in person. Room was clean overall. We had to call down to the front desk and they were very helpful. First vacation as a family in 8 years and everything was really great. Thanks Strathcona. 10/10.

I stayed here with my husband and four kids. We had two beds and a pull out couch. We walked to the museum and Beacon Hill Park. Had an awesome affordable supper at the rooftop restaurant. They provided a playpen for my infant. We would stay again for sure.

Our stay was amazing! Our room was super clean and staff was very helpful and attentive. We also went over to the restaurant connected to the hotel and the food was so good! our favorite was the burger and wings! A lot of kid-friendly options and crayons to keep my toddler busy. Overall great experience and will visit again!
