Holiday Inn Darling Harbour, an IHG Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the property, the only thing that we didn’t rate is the cleaning in the rooms. Attention to detail, ie vacuuming the floors and making sure the shower floors were clean were not their strongest point. Otherwise great place for families to stay at. Let’s hope now that a new hotel chain has taken over, these details will be addressed.

Loved our stay; clean large room w/ comfortable beds. Great location, safe area, close to everything without all the noise pollution or stress. Enjoyed the breakfast options and look forward to returning with my family.

We had a family room which was spacious, but outdated. No shelves in the wardrobe so basically we lived off our suitcases. Bathroom old and a bit dirty. But the buffet breakfast was a great addition. The hotel is in Chinatown so plenty of places to eat and small convenience stores all within a walking distance. Tram stop is 5 min walk. Just over 1 km to get to the Darling Harbour a must on a Saturday for the fireworks display. Good overall.

Toilet started spraying during the night and then water came up through the bathroom floor. The buffet breakfast service was oversubscribed with long wait times for tables, our family not being able to sit together and us being asked if we wouldn’t mind leaving after a short time because the table was needed. The restaurant staff did the best they could in a tough situation. Location is great. Close to great restaurants, public transport and shopping.

Holiday inn I would like to send our sincerely grateful message to the Holyday Inn Haymarket of Sydney Australia hotel staff, the breakfast table and kitchen staff and the room cleaning company. Our 7 days stay has been one of the best experiences in hotel front desk, room service, lovely eating and clean room that we had in all the years of travelling in Australia and overseas We are a grownup Australian family from Argentina and as such, understand the difficulties and stress in this industry, particularly after COVID and, because of that, we value the extra effort that all the people that cross our path in the hotel at Haymarket Sydney went for. Please extend our thanks to Rosie and Amanda from the front desk as well as the new great trainee Karen (which thankfully speaks Spanish as well as Amanda), the day manager Suchev and the rest of the staff which always were attentive and smiling, helping us in all simple a important things. From the kitchen and breakfast staff, Mary and Romina (another big thanks to them spanish speakers and high educated attention to detail while serving) together with all the staff that every single morning worked they back off to serve, clean, prepare and deal with such a big task of keeping everyone happy and well fed. Comfortable and convenient. This is located right in Chinatown and right next Darling Harbour. The room I've got (with 2 beds) were comfortable for a family of 4 including 2 teenagers. The bathroom is also modern and clean.

Reception staff giving inconsistent information, junior (?) staff member needing more training as they were inaudible, lacking confidence and overlooked those waiting in line. Beds were very comfy. Location great. However, doors are heavy and so make a very load noise when closed which continued well into the night. Shower could do with a more detailed clean.

Huge rooms, well appointed bathroom within walking distance to Darling Harbour. Staff were lovely and the hotel was very family friendly.

Central location. Twin room too small for 2 adults and a child. However hotel staff gave a bigger room with 3 beds and no charge!
