Hotel was reasonably priced and included breakfast buffet. Breakfast buffet had the usual expected hot and meal options. Fresh fruit juice machine was good.
Hotel was in a great location. Close to Chinatown, Darling Quarter, Darling Harbour and easy to hop on train to Pitt Street and Circular Quay.
Pool was not huge but kids enjoyed it.
Rooms were a little dated but were reasonably spacious and it was nice to have a little garden patio area.
Lifts got very busy in the mornings and often had to wait a long time.
There is a car parking building next door and discounted rates through the hotel. However the parking card the hotel gives you often didn't work and we encountered other hotel guests who had the same problem.

Overall good but annoyed we needed to book two rooms. Initially booked a king room and asked to change it to a twin queen as there were 2 adults and two kids. Was told they would get back to us. They never did so had to book a second room just in case at a cost of $280! We finally get our rooms and they were both twin queen. Extremely annoying and a waste of money just because someone did not call us. Other than that, a decent stay as always.

It was a busy weekend and there were long lines at checkin and checkout. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. I booked a king room for myself and 2 kids (10 & 12) as we sometimes share a king bed at home. This was the smallest king I’ve ever seen! About 10cm narrower than at home. I told reception and they immediately brought in a rollaway bed at no extra cost. Problem solved, greatly appreciated !! Fantastic location, seemed very popular with families. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend for quiet, romantic weekend for a couple. Buffet breakfast was fantastic!

If you are sensitive to noise, please avoid this hotel as while I was staying there, I could hear: the child's screaming from next door, the footsteps from the room above, someone's iPhone alarm early in the morning, the shower noise in the morning and at night from neighbour rooms.

My family and I stayed here on New Years Eve. The hotel was full, but the staff were friendly, relaxed and welcoming. Our room was ready early and we were greeted with snack boxes and bottles of Prosecco to help celebrate the New Year. Soft comfortable beds were very nice after hours on our feet watching the fireworks. Very happy with our stay.

Very central location and everything we needed for a short stay with two double beds. Perfect for a family of 4. Having a small fridge where we could keep some small things made it even better!

This was the perfect spot as it was close to the Central Bus & Rail Station. Plenty of places to eat as well as it's own buffet breakfast every morning. The room was perfect for our family.

I was visiting Australia to attend both a wedding in Sydney and visit family in Adelaide. Staying on my own in Sydney it was important I felt safe and have the ability to access food in a hotel at any time, both of which proved to be the case at the Novotel in Thomas St. The staff were obliging and very helpful, particularly those in the restaurant at breakfast. This is a popular hotel being located near Central Station with good transport connections to tourist attractions and Circular Quay, but there were times when reception was very busy particularly with the arrival of folk following flights into the country from overseas. I felt the reception could have done with more staff on duty at these times as for those already staying there it meant queuing a long time if you needed to speak to someone at reception, and you had to think ahead to avoid the need to go to reception at these times. Overall I was looked after well and would certainly recommend the hotel, and be happy to stay there again. Janet Hughes
