Our family of four, with 2 teenagers stayed here for a ski weekend and look forward to coming back. The price is right and it’s a clean and comfortable property with a warm and helpful staff. Appreciated the pool and hot tubs as well as the restaurant/bar, which is attached to the hotel. We had dinner there twice and the bartender remembered us and treated like old friends. The shuttle bus which runs on schedule and takes you to the Stowe ski mountain, picks you up right out front!

Loved the nostalgic feel and smells of this hotel. It brought back endless memories of road trips with my family in the 70s and 80s.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Ended our stay calling fire marshal for a safety site visit.walking through we became extremely uncomfortable by the conditions. I read reviews on expedia to which this place does not match the reviews at all. Contacted expedia let them know I don’t feel safe we want to cancel. Expedia called desk and she said no we were inside the cancellation window. The hallways are missing tiles through out the entire inn from what appears to be water damage. Multiple sections of drop ceilings just gone. The inn has a no smoking on property policy to which you can smell that guest have smoked inside rooms and we viewed guests smoking outside at the main entrance. Our room was second story to which the window opens and there is no screen. The window space itself is larger than a traditional window allowing children/adults to fall through or animals to come in. Our room had water damage all around the fire alarm and just left of it there is black mold growing on the ceiling. There was hair in multiple places around the room. I contacted Expedia a third time to which desk refused. I asked to speak to the Owner of the hotel left a few messages over phone and email no return on any message. Desk lady has screamed at me and hung up when asking simply what time owner would be in. No one has contacted me. We were 4 hours from home and willing to spend a lot more money at another hotel just to feel safe. The employees at this hotel are hostile and completely unprofessional.

This was a nice, basic, convenient place to stay while we were in town for the night. We drove the mile to the village for dinner and to walk around one afternoon, and in the morning I was able to stroll my son down the road a bit to get a bite to eat for breakfast. The pool provided entertainment for my teen son and baby, but the area around the pool was super slippery so watch out for that! The front desk staff were friendly and kind, and the lobby area looked like a great place to meet up for larger groups. One group had brought their own snacks/ drinks and were hanging out by the fireplace before going to dinner. We would definitely stay there again. It's not luxurious but it's clean, in a good location, and the price is right!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Commodore Hotel is an old style family hotel, not chic, and a lot of the cleaning and maintenance is on view, but the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and unpretentious. Especially nice for families, though traveling with four adults we also appreciated how laid back it is. The rooms are huge, the beds comfy and it is a stone's throw from downtown Stowe. I would happily stay again.

Clean, comfy, family- and pet-friendly inn. The decor has a vintage 1980s feel, but the rooms were neat and clean and the beds were comfy. Short walk to Green Goddess Cafe (cute local place), 5 minute drive to Stowe, and 15 minutes to Ben and Jerry's. My son loved the indoor pool and hot tub.

Older hotel but great service and location. We loved the restaurant that was attached that made it very easy for our tired family to eat when we wanted. The rooms were spacious. The bed was comfortable but could use new pillows. We enjoyed our stay and would return

Loved the comfort and friendliness of the Commodore. It's refreshing to find old-time hospitality in a homelike setting at a ski village known for its upscale resorts. Lovely setting on a small lake where model sailboats are raced during the summer. During the afternoon, refreshments and amazing home-baked cookies are offered in the lobby. The rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfy. Folks traveling with kids or pets will especially love this place!
