Wingate by Wyndham San Marcos

My sister and I stayed there for a family vacation. And the room didn’t have a coffee maker or any soap or body wash. This is the first hotel I’ve stayed in with out any accommodations like this.

I would have given this property 1 star ( or zero if it was an option) had it not been for the excellent staff. They were super nice and friendly and tried to work with my family and I the best they could. To me, they were the only ones that salvaged my stay here at this hotel. This place was so old and outdated that it needs to be torn down and rebuilt. Ownership needs to put money back into this property and remodel/rebuild. The whole place stunk of mildew and old carpet. I feared for my life the few times I used the elevator, it rattled and shook and struggled, one time feeling like it hit something inside the elevator shaft when it was taking us up to our room. The bathroom door frame was so rusted that we had to close and open it slowly and carefully in fear of it falling out of the wall. The shower doors were busted that it took every bit of someone's strength to slide them shut and open. There was water damage scattered all over the ceiling and walls, one spot being directly over the bed. The air conditioner never really worked that well but it felt like it just stopped cooling altogether the last few days our our stay. The electronic door lock, the piece you slide your card into to unlock, kept malfunctioning that by the end of our trip, I probably had 15 different cards to turn back in from constantly going to down to the desk to get new ones just to let us in our room. All in all, we will not be staying there ever again.

We happened to stay on a night where there were a bunch of youth sports kids so that’s the only thing that altered our comfort. They were loud, disruptive, and not well looked after by who they were there with. It would probably help if the hotel hired some sort of security because we also had people on our floor being so loud after midnight. They smelled so strongly of weed and had there been security maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad. The room was clean and you can tell this place is older but breakfast was good and staff was friendly.

I was bit by a spider in my bed! (5 TIMES) Did not feel till next day, I brought it to Elizabeth's attention. She said I can move you to a different room our you can check out (end of Quote) Elizabeth was not very concerned of my or my families wellbeing. My second room was next to a UPS building very noisy! Same Breakfast everyday. Room wasn't clean Roof was falling a part base boards were rotted out. When we arrived a Daddy Long Legs spider was hanging from the roof in the hall next to our room door. The gentleman on duty was notified and took care of it. Worst time of my life, but they sure received their money before we even left! Great business practice Wingate by Wyndham. Im sure nothing will be done about this review........

Stayed here with my 2 kids. Everything was nice and comfy. The property is dated some scratches here and there and patching on walls. But all the amenities were great. Nice comfy bed and very quiet even if it is close to 35. Slept really well here and felt very safe.

We are traveling with our grandchildren, and y’all’s motel has made it so comfortable. Thank you! Our room was clean and roomy and comfortable! What more can we ask for!
