Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Austin San Marcos

Children were screaming out in the pool until close time. Then the people above us, I am assuming had kids but the stomped on the floor until 3am. I slept very little. I expect better sound proofing when I pay $200 a night. Breakfast was gross. The man working the front desk when we came in barely acknowledged us and when he did he was rude.

Showers were super clean and that is definitely a must with me and the only reason I don’t give this hotel all sad face rating. Pool opens at 7 and it wouldn’t get cleaned till 10am. Trash can in pool area would sit spilling till after noon. With toddlers the pool area was our first stop and it wasn’t pleasant. Towels were always out of stock and I’d have to make trips to the front desk to ask for towels only to get an eye roll or the “are you sure you looked?”. My ac wasn’t working and I wasn’t even offered a different room but a we’ll let maintenance know. Husband found a hair cooked in his waffle. Overall, other than the cleaning staff, everyone else needs classes in customer service etiquette and proper management skills.

Checking in after a late flight and losing one of our luggage made everything at ease when coming into contact with Kawaika.Kawika who checked us in was super accommodating, was very helpful, and very nice. The room itself was clean, spacious, and up to date. The beds was super comfortable after flying a long flight and a achy body. The only thing is our coffee machine didn’t have the insert to put the coffee filter and coffee in it.. So we just made hot water . But we could get good coffee downstairs with our free breakfast. Breakfast was good! Decent for if you need to be somewhere and need a quick bite to eat . There was scrambled eggs, bacon, waffle station, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, English muffins, toast, yogurt. On another day there was a egg omelette & breakfast sausage. My family loved breakfast and how convenient it was. I would definitely come back to stay here again!

They told us the breakfast was from 7-10 when we checked in. When we went down to breakfast on Monday they were cleaning up at 9. The check in lady failed to tell us he breakfast hours changed on the weekdays. This made a big difference in my day as I was trying to feed my child breakfast and then could not. Not worth the money at this hotel. Next time I would stay elsewhere.
