Hilton Garden Inn San Marcos

always a great stay. waited a few minutes for our room to be ready but nothing excessive, checking was a bit longer than anticipated espebeing in a rush to leave but managed to get checked out. clean rooms and great service. We will be back. Hilton garden inn is our home away from home since we frequent San Marcos very often to see our college kids.

The area was ideal, right near the highway for the purpose of our trip. The hotel is older but that wasn’t the problem. The room was not cleaned very well. For example, the shower had long hair all along the shower walls. The faucet in the bathroom was very loose and the sink was barely cleaned. Also, the door to the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The beds were questionable but we tried to make the most of the trip and weren’t in the rooms too long. The service wasn’t that great either. On the first morning there, we participated in the breakfast buffet. A lady came and gave us a ticket with one child and one adult. The next morning, there was a different lady (a lady with red hair) who was not friendly. She kept taking my son’s plates when he’d go get juice. And when she gave me the bill (I didn’t eat), she charged me for two adults. When I mentioned what the lady charged the previous day, she asked me who old my son was (14) and she said that’s an adult. At the moment, I told my son that we would not be eating there anymore because of how she made us feel. We won’t be back to this hotel unless there are no other options for the timeframe needed…I do want to note that Chloe at the front desk was the ONLY person who provided exceptional service for our short interaction. She was attentive and very pleasant. Chloe was the positive in our stay there.
