Hyatt Place Lubbock

My stay was good. Employees were very welcoming & helpful and the room was clean and nicely decorated. My only complaint is the thin walls. We could hear the family next door pretty clearly threw the adjoining access door. It was a little alarming because at one point I thought someone was in our room. Otherwise the room & stay was wonderful.

Very clean, kids liked the pool. Ample parking. It was just as close to walk to the visitor center as it was to park on campus & then walk! Very convenient to campus. Huge room with a large separate sitting area that we appreciated w/2 teen boys. We arrived late on Wed (no luggage carts) & expected to eat in the restaurant that was heavily advertised, but Wed is a “reset” day, so no restaurant. Not sure anyone uses restaurant, didn’t see it on Thursday, either. Breakfast was fine, not great. The hotel advertising pics are much more appealing. At one point, we came in & found 2 ppl waiting for the elevator. Eventually, we asked & were told it was being serviced & would be out another 30-40 minutes! No signs & the other ppl had been there several minutes. I would stay here again for the value, room size & cleanliness.

Nice place to stay with family. Breakfast is ok not that great, like any other place just cereal and bread.

4 complaints: the pool was cold, there was a birthday party where there were atleast 15 kids running, jumping and screaming we could not enjoy our time at the pool or the patio area, the morning we were leaving a group of employees were standing at the front desk complaining about management not knowing how to schedule properly. There were several cuss words thrown around in that conversation with guests walking by. I think if you are staying at the hotel parking should be free.

Such a great location being in walking distance to campus and several restaurants and shops. Hotel was clean and in good shape overall. Only complaint is that we went mostly for indoor pool as we were traveling with 4 year old, and the pool was so cold we could hardly stand it and had to go outside to warm up. We saw other families doing the same. I’m not sure if it is always like that or something was wrong with it. We noticed when we were leaving that the pool was closed for maintenance.

We stayed here one night on our way to Santa Fe from San Antonio and it was great. We are a family of five and the room with the little sitting area with a sofa bed worked great. It’s super clean, has a decent breakfast, and we’ll priced. Since it’s right next to Texas Tech there are a lot of restaurant offerings in the immediate vicinity.

A excellent hotel to stay at whether visiting family friends or hookers

The hotel itself was nice. The gents at the front desk were friendly and courteous. Nice snacks if you need a quick bite. Beds comfy and rooms, although a touch small have a nice little lounging couch and ample storage space. The visit started off great, however, around 12pm we experienced knocking at our door which turned out to be drunk college kids at the wrong room. Ok. It happens. Around 1am the EXTREMELY loud talking begins. The walls at this hotel are like paper, as are the doors, so my family got to relive our college years all night long (music, thumping which shook our room, and a thorough lesson on “how she likes it”) until they finally took a nap around 4am, then they were back at it again at 6am. We paid extra to be on a high floor to avoid noise, so that was terribly disappointing to have such a sleepless night. We debated calling front desk, but we could hear noise from all around, so we honestly weren’t sure who to call the front desk on. Hotel is great, as long as you aren’t a light to medium sleeper. My son who can and has slept through tornadoes was fine.

Bed were uncomfortable and were loud with any move. We were looking forward to using the pool but the pool was to cool. Says it’s heated but doesn’t feel like it. A kid was struggling to get in.

I am not sure if the room I had was also a pet friendly room because my family including myself have allergy with fur and I can feel it through out the rest of my night. My throat start to get itchy. I know if the room is pet friendly or not. I wish the staff do a good deep cleaning after every pet friendly owner stay, because not everyone okay with pet fur. We are okay with the pet, but if after several pets that stay with their owner there, I think the room needs a good deep cleaning.
