We were inconvenienced by the airlines and the long waiting line at the US customs such that we ultimately missed the connecting flight back to DFW for the night. Called the hotel and attempted to cancel the booking and got the impersonal, repeated, mechanic “we can’t do anything about it” response. The ironic thing is that we actually paid extra for flexible booking that would allow cancellation. If there were an option to allow cancellation up until the check-in time, I would have paid for that, but there’s no such option. I would imagine as a hotel mostly accommodating the travelers in and out of the DFW airport, Comfort Inn DFW would be more accommodating to the cases where travelers didn’t show up because they were inconvenienced by the airlines or the customs. I know many other airport hotels are. We used to love Comfort Suite have have recommended it to many friends and family. But this incident left us with the impression that this hotel is taking advantage of the customers for the increasing air traffic uncertainties and inconveniences, which shakes our faith in this chain. We would warn any travelers who thinks that travel delays or flight cancellations (which seems more often these days) are even remotely possible to avoid this hotel unless you are 100% confident that no such incidents would happen. This hotel offers absolutely no accommodation or flexibility for these travel uncertainties even if you make a flexible and refundable booking.

It was a hot day but the AC was at 78 when we arrived at 3pm check in. It was around 2am before the temperature dropped to 69! That was uncomfortable. Then the next day it was back up to 76 when we left at 9:30. I think they are controlling the temperature and need to bringing it down. Breakfast was good BUT be sure to have your plate full at 9 because they swipe all the food away at the exact time. I watched a family with 3 toddlers be turned away at 9:01am! Staff were nice and room/bathroom was clean.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 2 kids and got home today to find that I had 2 charges, one for $230 and one for $250. When I called the location they said it was a pet fee because pet hair was found in the room. We have pets at home, it is only natural for pet hair to come off our luggage and blankets. I have never had this issue at any other Comfort Suites.
Prior to this issue, the stay was okay, but the breakfast needs improvement. There weren't plates available for two days of our stay, and nothing was refilled after 8am.

For 5-6 weeks in Nov and Dec, Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child VOLUNTEERS pack shoeboxes for children in foreign countries. The packing center is a few blocks from Comfort Suites DFW, It would be nice to get a discount on the hotel.

Check in was very easy and painless. Everyone we encountered during our stay was very friendly and pleasant.
The hotel itself is a little bit older but seems to be maintained pretty well. Everything in our room worked as it should and was clean. The bed was on the firmer side but was comfortable and the ac worked great. The outdoor pool was wonderful and well maintained and had lounge chairs and some tables (no umbrellas).
During our stay there were several gatherings hosted at the hotel and it sure appeared that many "guests" were piling into rooms at the end of the night. I get it and don't mind normally if they are not causing issues. Breakfast was where the issue was. Due to the abundance of "guests" staying the breakfast was totally blown out each morning well before closing time. I honestly cant rate the actual breakfast because we never really saw it. That was disappointing when you have 2 kiddos with you and now you have to buy breakfast.
We like to come to the Grapevine area because it's clean and has a lot of stuff and we like to also watch the planes flying in. I have noticed that the hotels right next to the airport have less families and events and usually don't host unaccounted for guests for breakfast so will do that next time instead.

I will never book this property or use Expedia again. Wrong size room was booked not enough beds for my family and the hotel refused to discuss it with me. Expedia said that I needed to cancel the room not to be charged a no show fee and they would discuss with hotel Monday. Of course after several chats everyone refused any ownership in the issue even though I booked a room with two queen beds. Never again Expedia, you lost me as a customer. Choice Hotels, your refusal to discuss with me on the phone is a poor business practice.

Check-in was a breeze, staff very friendly and helpful. My only issue was the condition of the room (508). Upon entering, we were hit with a strong musty odor, appeared to be from the previous guest. It was a strong combination of body odor and very cheap cologne. The odor permeated throughout the entire room, into the bathroom and the bed. I took some baby wipes I had in my bag and gave the entire place a good wipe down along with some peppermint oil to mask the smell. I don’t think the pillow cases were changed because I noticed some stains and crusty things in one side so I placed the pillow on the bench across the room. Honestly, this place isn’t horrible, it just needs a really good deep clean. The carpets are stained and odorous, the furniture is outdated and chipped, the chairs are stained and ripped. I probably won’t stay here again. But, the staff are very friendly.
