The Grand Hotel

The town of McKinney is wonderful and this hotel is in the prime location to visit, just steps from the town square. There are a bunch of restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the staff very welcoming. Would absolutely stay here again when I come back to visit family in the area.

The room was exceptional as was the property. We enjoy staying here as it’s a low key boutique style hotel in a historical building. The facility is well kept and comfortable. We love the proximity to the shops and restaurants on the square. We raised a family in the area but moved away years ago and it’s so nice to just go over for a relaxing weekend and trip do our old area. Love it!

It’s a unique historic hotel with spacious rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the antiquated look of the rooms. Very nice amenties. Would probably stay again just not on a holiday. The only downside is the thin walls and a pre Christmas parade that closed down street access to the hotel. The streets were closed off to vehicles. We had to lug our luggage a block to the hotel. By the time we checked out the next day there was so much parade traffic. I know this is out of the hotels control but it would have been nice to have been warned ahead of time so we aren’t driving around trying to figure out where to park and how to get to the hotel. Regarding the thin walls, we could hear the kids in the room above us running, jumping and laughing all the way till midnight. Granted it was thanksgiving night so they were probably all energetic from the food and festivities. We had a wonderful window room which offered a great view but because the hotel is surrounded by shops and a bar we could hear people all night talking outside. Again it was thanksgiving night so foot traffic through downtown was probably higher than normal. There was a couple fighting and yelling around 3am outside in the streets probably drunk from the bar. We woke up around 6am to the sound of machinery and people getting the decor and carnival stuff ready for the parade. We just wanted a restful night to sleep after spending a long day with family.
