Howard Johnson by Wyndham Downtown Gatlinburg

My children an I really enjoyed our stay here. It was quiet and of walking distance to everything in downtown Gatlinburg. We’ll definitely be returning for our next trip there!

Good: Close to downtown Gatlinburg. Good size room. Nice (small) pools with waterslide. Affordable. Safe. Friendly staff. Bad: Musty smell. Didn't feel clean. Floors were filthy. My family and I had to wear shoes at all times otherwise our feet/socks were black. Will not be staying here again due to cleanliness.

Great stay with family. Only down side was the bed wasn’t comfortable at all. Felt worn out

Great location for walking around Gatlinberg!! Staff was great! Very kind and helpful. It served its purpose for us. Felt safe with kids and we didnt have to drive anywhere for 3 days. A lil more TLC in some areas in the room and building but nothing to really complain about. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!!

The Gatlinburg Howard Johnson is always a good choice. Good location and quite comfortable, it's much better and family friendly than a lot of the 'tourist-grade' motels that abound in the area.

Great location! Perfect family getaway

I don’t know how this hotel has so many good reviews. I came into the room with dirty towels still on the sink, young children running up and down the hallway all night, and my door card stopped working after my first night. The room seemed sketchy and not very secure. I won’t be returning.

I can’t rate our stay because our friend’s mom was sent to hospital. She had been battling COVID and other health problems. Her oxygen level had dropped and sent to the hospital. Her family was told she may not make it through the night. So we had to leave. We were at Skyland Ranch when our friend received the call. So I called the hotel and explained the situation to the lady. She said she would cancel our reservations. We had every intention of keeping our reservations but this happened. It would have been nice if the lady at the hotel would have showed some more compassion.

The first day, the housekeeper didn't make our room. When I got to the room that evening and called the front desk, they told me that if I didn't request my room to be made, the housekeeper wouldn't make it (?) So I asked them to please make my room every day...still they only made the beds and put new towrls, but they didn't change sheets nor did they vacuum the room, it was so dirty I was so sorry to had stayed there., when I looked at the hotel in the website it said they offered free breakfast, after I booked the room a little message came up in the screen reading that they weren't offering breakfast any longer...the edge of the beds were broken and had some screws sticking out (a real hazard specially with kids)...I must say beds were comfortable and the location was good too. But that is it.

The property are walking distance to town, the costumer service are poor. I checked in And they give me a room that not what I paid for. I went to complain and to be fair they give me an exact room I booked.inside the room is ok clean but just don’t know why have a baby cockroaches..
