Holiday Inn Express Gatlinburg Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Horrible check in!! The lady, Carol at the desk was rude. Yelled to us when we were coming in, can't check in till 4pm! Ok, we thought it was 3pm like most Hotels. We arrived at 315. She then tells me, our room will be ready at 330? Family had already uploaded our car. Had our stuff on a cart. We waited in the lobby, in full view of this woman. Other guests started coming in to check in, as it was now 345. She never once said, come on up! I then got in line behind 6 other guests checking in. Ridiculous. Room was just ok, certainly not worth $300 a night during the week for a family of 4!! We had stayed at Gatlinburg Margaritaville 3 weeks prior for the same price. Much better Hotel for the same money! Also, the indoor pool was cold. Super thin small towels in our room. Beds were awful. Plastic silverware for breakfast was the cheapest made. Won't be staying here ever again!!

This was a great hotel and my family and I enjoyed our stay a lot. The staff was amazing and my kids loved the waterpark/pool feature. Our rooms were clean and the pool water temperature was nice and warm. Not to mention, the parking was free and the hotel is walking distance from the main downtown strip. If we ever come back to Gatlinburg, we would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay if you have kids waterpark is awesome just wish they had towels in the pool area they do give you some in your room but very small towels that you have to exchange

We loved the convenience of this location. It’s close and walkable to everything. We love the pool water park area for the kids. The room is spacious. We would definitely love to come back.

this place is great if you have children!!..

Our stay was very good overall. The hotel was in a great location that allowed us to walk everywhere. The staff was friendly and accessible to our needs. The best part for the kids was the water playground. They could have spent the entire trip playing on the slides or splashing around in the water. If we ever return to Gatlinburg, we would stay here again.

great family hotel, will visit again!

Most of the experience was pretty standard for staying at a hotel. The breakfast was actually better than expected. The pool facilities were nice & big enough for many kids & families to enjoy without feeling overcrowded. The game rooms were ok, most of the machines took our money, they did not have “out of order” signs on them, but they did have “no refund given” signs. Kinda crappy they knew the machines *might* be broken & wont give you your money back. The main issue we had was we booked a KING suite with pull out couch bed. Our bed was not a king, it was definitely a QUEEN, we checked the tags since it was smaller than expected. We were extremely upset about this because we were charged the same for a king suite but given a queen. Be aware when booking your room that you may not get what you paid for! Did not get a price adjustment either! Hopefully in the future they give customers what they actually pay for.

Wondering hotel! I highly recommend it . It’s close and convenient to downtown and a lot of great options for your kids and whole family . Wonder staff too
