The property location is very desirable. I enjoyed the nightly live music. The pool and gym hours were not accommodating. The pool will be renovated starting in July. The carpet in the hallways should be replaced. The rooms were beautiful. It is a quiet and family friendly upscale hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Absolutely amazing property. I travel a lot and these by far were the BEST mattresses I have ever slept on. We were able to attend two snowfalls as guests and my kids had a blast. Will definitely be back for another staycation.

Beautiful hotel but could use a little updating on the decor. Houses several restaurants, a mini shopping mall with several upscale shops, rooftop pool and spa, tons of little seating areas inside and out, and very friendly and helpful staff. Would have liked the room to be a bit bigger so two queen beds would fit but sleeping choices are limited. Beds and pillows are wonderful, though. Housekeeping checked on us twice each day and doormen/porters always greeted us warmly no matter which door we entered — there are several at this hotel. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back! I did hear from the Concierge that they will be remodeling by 2025. I was told that the hope is to have a more “family comfortable” vibe in the lobby. In the process, they will be removing the grand staircase and opulent chandelier.

We loved this hotel! It is centrally located and easy to get anywhere you needed. We stayed during the holiday season and it seemed to be the hub of what was happening that weekend. So if you do stay there be sure to make your dinner reservations well in advance.
They had a driving service, that took us to and back from our dinner reservation, but we were unable to eat dinner on property. The Charleston Place, service staff was beyond measure. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and super helpful. The room was cleaned to perfection, they were prompt with any requests we needed. Turn down service was a pleasant surprise. This might seem miniscule, but the bottled water was complimentary. The rooms, although very nice were very small. We had two double beds, two queen size beds would have been much better for a family of four.

Went there as a family to enjoy the Xmas experience there. The train set, the tree, the lights and the market and the 'snow' were an experience for our 2 year old. It was super busy, but so worth it

We came here for our Anniversary. The hotel was expertly decorated for the Christmas season with well over 100 live Christmas trees adorning the hotel. The hotel built an electric train display between the stair cases descending from the second floor to the main lobby. The highlight of the visit was Saturday night December 17. They were showing the movie Polar Express. Near the end of the movie the main Christmas Tree in the courtyard lit up and snow begin to fall. Up on the top of the Hotel was a scene depicting Santa and the reindeer sleigh flying over the hotel. All of the children and families made this Anniversary extra special. The hotel was sufficiently staffed and catered to our ever need. Charleston is very safe to explore and enjoy the festive atmosphere. This is a trip we will always remember. Charles

Ben, at the bell hope station, was wonderful with my kids and they really enjoyed his humor and personality. Also, the others were terrific as well! Thanks for having us.

My husband and I stayed at the Charleston Place to celebrate our birthdays. From the time we drove up, everyone was attentive and kind. The front desk made sure our room was at the end of the hall and had a great view of King Street. She also gave us complimentary drinks and appetizers at the Thoroughbred Club (which was also fantastic). After we returned from shopping, we were surprised with a bottle of wine and a chocolate tort for our birthdays. A little while later, we went to dinner and came back to turn-down service and a hand written note from the night staff. The PATH water was very cold and fancy for us! The shower had wonderful pressure and we loved the soft robes and slippers.
We felt thoroughly celebrated. This hotel was a splurge for our family, as we are in the stage of life with young children (which means ALLL the extracurriculars like sports and dance -which are not cheap!). But, we both agreed that all the little things that made us feel appreciated was well worth the weekend away. We immensely enjoyed our stay.
