Fabulous hotel ! Room (junior suite) was excellent. Lots of comfortable space with a large bathroom. Excellent service to unlock the room safe that the previous guest had locked when leaving. Maintenance arrived only 10 mins after I called reception. Complimentary coffee and snacks in the lounge. Great location for bars, restaurants, toyrs etc. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Very challenging experience. Took them 3 tries to get the room card correct leading to three trips to and from the front desk after checkin. Front desk person grew testy to boot. Inauspicious beginning. Had a king suite room and told them we needed to use the pull out. No linens for the pull out. Had to ask 2 different times to bring them to us. Remote control didn’t work. On day 2 they finally came to fix it but couldn’t and said they’d come back. They didn’t. Towels in the room were too few for 3 people. Toilet gurgled for 5 minutes post flush. Food pantry nearby made going outside with family feel dangerous. Valet lost our valet key for a day. Thankfully we brought a spare. All seem completely inadequate for $400+ per night. Restaurant food and service were good. Excellent French fries.

It's centrally located in downtown which is also near clinic. As my children and I were enjoying the courtyard, there were people sleeping and loitering around the property asking for change. The hotel itself is beautiful and quiet although we encountered challenges with all those unflattering doors as our hands were full while getting into and out of the room. The valet doesn't accept cash, which is not announced in the lobby at all.

I guess I should lower my expectations. I’ll leave my review of the original hotel I booked elsewhere. This was my backup. Checking: the gentleman who checked us in seemed distracted. We got our keys and went upstairs, only to find our keys did not work. Thankfully there was a very kind security personnel walking by, and she got us into the room. She also said “we’ve been having issues with the keys all day”. If that’s the case, it would have been nice to have been told that when I checked in. She called to the front desk from our room to ask for 2 new keys. They never came. I had to call separately and then they arrived. The room is clean. A little rust at the drain of the tub. The tv is woefully small for the room and the furniture. Like 2004 small. No, I’m not kidding.

Not what I expected based on photos and reviews. Yes this is an old, historic hotel which I guess makes it a boutique by definition but this is not a 4 star hotel. Sadly it’s on a dark road with an alley behind it and surrounded by homeless people and drug dealers. Not the area of town I would’ve preferred to be in with my family. Upon arrival there was no one to be found. So why did I get a text and email asking me to pre check in with my arrival time? There was no cart available for our luggage and my husband had to locate anyone to check us in. And the $40 valet charge is absurd anywhere outside NYC or Miami. The room? Well after we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs in the middle of the hall on the second floor (???) we got to our dungeon (aka room) with two small windows if you want to even call the second window a window at all. And with one small air vent in the corner of the room we had to keep the air on 65 to have any airflow. I had to leave the room early in the morning due to feeling so closed in. We travel a lot and I have been to many hotels (including boutique hotels and motels) and this one is one of the worst. No counter top in bathroom and our toilet didn’t work. Would not stay here again or recommend this hotel. There are many more options with better location, staff, and amenities.
