Comfort Suites Monaca

We were attending a family wedding. Stayed here because I like Comfort Inns.

When we arrived it was difficult to get in the elevator as it was very small and tight around a corner and across a narrow hallway from someone’s room. We had to take two trips to get our family upstairs. Once we stepped into the room it smelled so strongly of a musty smell that we had to leave. I have never had to leave a hotel before from a room being unclean and I’ve stayed at dozens of hotels however it was unsanitary for our 2 small children and infant to breathe in all night. The front desk admit they were “having a cleaning problem” but they also told us they only had a king bed available which would not accommodate 2 adults, 2 children and an infant. As a result we had to cancel on arrival. The situation was out of our control. The hotel now refuses to refund our money as we cancelled too late. This is unacceptable. We arrived on time for our reservation and were understanding about switching rooms. The fact that the hotel was unclean and they didn’t have any room to accommodate us is not our fault and should not be our problem. We then had to spend more money to book another hotel on the spot in the middle of a thunderstorm . Hotels.com got involved but the hotel still said their policy is “firm.” I will be calling corporate. Stay at your own risk of getting sick and note their customer service is terrible.
