We traveled all day and were looking forward to going to the pool with the kids since they've been in the car so long but the pool was shut down for cleaning. The front desk attendant suggested we go to the Red Lyon. The room we booked was a one bedroom to accommodate 2 adults and 3 children. The Red Lyon didn't have a one bedroom unit. The kids were very disappointed and hoped it would be available in the morning but the pool cleaner didn't show up so no pool.

Several family members stayed at this property for a family reunion. It was very conveniently located, friendly and clean.

There's no elevator, I'm 31 weeks pregnant traveling with three small children under the age of 6 and the front desk was extremely unhelpful. They seem incompetent and didn't try very hard to help. The room keys I had also kept stop working making me go up and down flights of stairs with three small children to get new keys from the desk.

It's a noisy places to stay. When the room on the floor above you showers or flushes the toilet, it sounds like the water is running on your head. You can hear every sound from the room above. I'm sure we had young children above us running and jumping. The breakfast was good and the parking for large vehicles is great.

First of all, you should know that this is a 2 story hotel with no elevator. Second, I checked in after driving for 3 hours at 10 with a toddler, a 12 year old and a 16 year old. We unpacked the car onto a luggage rack to put at the bottom of the stairs, and the girls took the key to go open the room while I parked. I walk back inside and my 12 year old is running down the hall freaked out. There were clothes all over the room and guys in there. I go back to the desk where someone else is checking in and some young guys are trying to get new room keys after they were in the pool. They needed keys for the room I was booked in (209). Ok, I’m irritated because we lugged all the stuff up there but ok. New room number 212 and keys given. 212 and 213 are in their own little hall thing. We fill the space with luggage and coolers and try the key. Like 20 times. I go back to the desk. Front desk guy tries, it doesn’t work, he takes the key and we sit in the hall. Meanwhile the now awake occupant of room 212 opens the door, as well as 213. The girls are dying of embarrassment, the baby is running around in a diaper that is now soaked through, and we finally end up with a vacant room down the hall (228). We move our stuff to the last room. Front desk guy says I’ll hear from someone. Nobody comped any part of my stay, apologized, nothing. This is the SECOND time this has happened at a Best Western and I paid $500 for that room this weekend. I will NEVER stay at another best western

Everything about this hotel was awful.
The sliding front doors were broken and had to be pushed apart manually.
Walking in, we were immediately assaulted by a foul odor as if the property had been a smoking hotel for decades and had never been able to get the smell out. Thankfully this smell only seemed to be present in the common areas--the room did not have the same stench.
The front desk attendant was very professionally dressed in some sort of pot-enthusiast t-shirt.
We were given a room on the 2nd floor and told that the hotel has no elevator. How is it possible in 2022 that a hotel doesn't have an elevator? We had to schlep a family's worth of luggage for a multi-week road trip and a heavy cooler up the stairs ourselves like it was the '50s.
Best of all, the room was over 80 degrees when we entered. The A/C unit was pathetic and barely offered any cooling at all even on the lowest temperature and highest fan settings. It took hours and hours to bring the temperature down to a merely annoying high-70s by morning.
This was *by far* the worst experience we've EVER had in ANY hotel. Do yourself a favor and stay literally ANYWHERE else if you're in the area.

The staff were great, from reception to breakfast room! The room was clean and spacious for all five of us (2 adults, 2 kids, and the dog). They did say their pet restriction is 20 lbs, or less. Really? I find the bigger dogs typically less noisy and more easy going. Also, we were disappointed the pool wasn't open, but didn't ask either - could have been due to poor air quality from NW fires. Breakfast was among the better quality!
