MainStay Suites Bricktown - near Medical Center

I had an extremely bad experience at this hotel. Below are are the details of what happened: 1) When I checked in with my family on August 30th, we were given the keys to Room # 118. When we opened the room, there was pest control powder everywhere, the beds were not made, and it was an unclean room, not ready for a guest. We again went downstairs and told the front desk about this. They said they would not know if a room is clean and it was the housekeeping who was supposed to enter that in the system! This time we got the keys for Room # 311. 2) At around 7.15 am next morning, the lights started flickering and then they went out. We were in the dark for the entire time till we checked out of the hotel around 10 am. We couldn't call the front desk, we couldn't charge our phones, we had to grope our way in the dark to get breakfast downstairs and that too we couldn't have things like fruit juice, waffles, pancakes etc. because there was no power. We asked the front desk about the power and they said some power lines were down and that the backup power was also not working! When I asked them why they don't check and maintain the power backup regularly they said they can't do it and they would only come to know if the power backup is working if a situation like this occurred! It was overall one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in my life!

Check in states 3. We get there and got told our room wasnt ready so we had to wait several hours. No call or email to let us know about delays. When we finally got our room the hall had trash strewn through out it making it gross to walk. Also some woman was beating on her kid pretty bad in the lobby, i coukd hear him screaming in the elevator and then in the room 1 floor below js. The hot tub that was advertised was not open. The morning breakfast has everyone who ate throwing up and when my husband went to get drinks he was told to wait. He did, and maria grabbed all her friends to gawk at him like it was a spectator sport making him feel very uncomfortable. When i went for towels i stood there for well over 30 minutes and no one appeared. The phone was pulled off the ringer, so they didn't have to listen to it, and over all i wouldnt stay at this location again. The check in girl was friendly. So i guess theres one positive part of the situation.

The staff were very nice!!! My family showed up to eat breakfast late; the kitchen staff was very nice to let us eat even though it was after breakfast hours!

I am really glad that my family chose MainStays. Our room was big and very comfortable. Customer service was friendly and quick. And, their breakfasts had quite a lot of really good options. We would definitely stay here again.

Other than the large family of noisy kids upstairs and the group with barking dogs across the hall, the room itself was nice.

The rooms were great but we only paid what we did so the kids could use the pool. Unfortunately it was an algae filled swamp and we could have saved $30 by going to another hotel.
