We love staying at Hotel Breakers with our kiddos. The rooms are always exceptionally clean and there is so much to do right at the hotel with the pools, arcade, Starbucks, and the beach..having Cedar Point right outside is just a bonus.

We arrived at 4pm for a 4pm check in time. The line was winding around the lobby and our room wasn’t ready until 6pm. This is not a cheap roadside hotel. We paid $800 for 2 nights not including park passes. Why aren’t the rooms ready on time? We have less than 48 hours to enjoy the amenities and amusement park and I think they owe us for the 2 hours that we missed due to their inability to properly manage this hotel. A positive: free parking.
Once we got to our room it was fine… nothing spectacular but adequate. The entire outdoor area could use some TLC. Light fixtures were dirty, patios needed a wash etc. The swimming pool was very buggy and needed skimming, which eventually happened, but not before the pool opened for the day. One of the elevators in our wing didn’t work and there were often long lines for the elevators.
The kids loved the early park entrance and convenient location to Cedar Point. Everything within the hotel was extremely overpriced, which is sort of to be expected but it seemed more than necessary.
The location is perfect for Cedar Point goers and we did enjoy the beach and relaxing on the pool decks (once we wiped bird droppings off of the chairs). Lake Erie was surprisingly shallow and warm here and there were lots of people enjoying that area which was nice to see.
I don’t think I’d stay here again, unfortunately. I had high hopes, but the price per night was a bit of a splurge considering it was just one stop on a road trip.

We stay here every year in August. The #1 reason why is the location. It is the only Cedar Point hotel that you can walk out of the hotel and head straight to the park in just moments. The Starbucks is nice and so is Perkins. The beach is lovely for a lake.
Cons- the bathroom shower is small and the water spills everywhere. Every time we stay here the bathrooms smell like wet mold.
The indoor pool was closed for two nights we were there. They had the cleaning machine in the pool for two days and I never saw a worker. Seems like they were being lazy opening it back up. Very pricy hotel almost a grand for two nights in a very small family suite with two beds.
Will we still be back for our annual trip, yes.

Four star prices are for the location, which is prime adjacent to Cedar Point. Lobby is beautiful. Rooms are average. Staff could be more friendly. Mattresses are worn, sunken, and in need of replacement. Needed to ask for soap, as the amenities were basic. Bedding is sparse, blanket seemed paper thin, and I was cold. Our family has stayed her 1 or 2 times annually for the past several years. We don’t have high expectations, because we love CP. Photos are of our room views this year. Last visit, we paid more going through the hotel directly and had a view of the furnace.

Pros: Location! Location ! Location! Very convenient for families with children as the beach and amusement parks are steps away from the hotel.
Cons: The rooms could have been cleaner. Washrooms in the room we’re not cleaned properly. The water in tub drained extremely slow. The chairs and pool area was not clean. There were no sitting area/ chairs available for guest at the beach.

I was very disappointed in the hotel for amount of money per night. For $400 a night the rooms should be clean & updated. The hotel was closing for the week at noon the day of checkout so no use of pools. The weather was awful (I know not in hotels control) but also bc they were closing down for season they had absolutely no activities going on that evening which in the past they always have & is one of the draws for my family to go there. I’m assuming because of weather they had no towels out at any of the pools or hot tubs. The bathroom needs some serious fixing & updates. The elevator ceiling was broke. The grounds were dirty. The resort has looked the same for the past 4-5 years which was beautiful at that point but obvious that it needs some serious TLC. I was beyond disappointed in the hotel… we ended up leaving and not even staying the night. It was beyond a let down for the price of the stay.
