Holiday Inn Resort Lumina on Wrightsville Beach, an IHG Hotel

This resort hotel was beautiful. It's right on the beach and was a wonderful stay. The pools were nice, clean and fun for the kids. The rooms were comfortable and was plenty if room for 4 people. They were accomodating to any needs we had.

Love this hotel I stay often even after my son graduated from UNCW. I have NEVER been able to check in @ 4 and this trip was no different. But this time I was checked into a room that was already assigned to a family!! Yep walked in I was stunned they were stunned we compared check in & yep checked into same room. Was told wrong number was written on my key envelope um but why did keys work then. I don’t want to use names I worked retail/hotels all my life and I’m more than under standing things happen. Manager needs to address checkin at this hotel. Staff was Amazing from Bar/restaurant/shuttle drivers Emma was fabulous making my friend & I custom request drinks…great family hotel!

We had a wonderful stay at this great hotel/resort. There were 12 of us moms on a quick get away for one night. The rooms were very clean and the property itself felt updated and clean. Staff were very nice. You have access to a indoor pool, and outdoor pool, and a beautiful beach area. It felt spacious and would be great for kids as well. The breakfast buffet was about $22 and was nothing too fancy but refreshed and fresh. Great omelet station with a friendly staff member.

Elevator situation is bad. We been waiting 15 plus minutes to get one and we gave a baby

Right on the beach. Very convenient with an indoor and outdoor pool. Pool bar should be open because it's inconvenient to walk upstairs to the restaurant to order food when you have children with you.

I started staying at this property when it first opened. Many many times my family and I visited. This weekend was the first time in a number of years and it has gone down Hill.

The staff were friendly, especially the restaurant, maintenance, and coffee shop staff. The receptionist at check in was luke warm, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the stay. The bottom floor as you enter isn’t special, but the other areas are open, well maintained and clean. I clean every hotel room before staying there and my Lysol wipes had no dust or grime!! My children enjoyed the stay and I already booked again for next year. Lovely place for a family with children .

Amazing vacation! Everyone we interacted with was so pleasant and helpful. Diner at restaurant was great too! Breakfast was delicious with custom omelets. Oh and the Southern Grits! We used the hot tub every night and had enjoyable conversations with other guests. And it was hot too! Keurig coffee maker lets you bring your own pods if you want. Lots of families and couples. Shuttle service great as downtown parking expensive - used it twice. We can’t wait to return!

Avoid this hotel! The holiday in resort scam is real. I booked for one day for my sister birthday. I checked in round 5/6:00pm changed clothes and left. Didn’t come back to my room until 10/11:00pm. To my surprise i find a letter in front of my door stating a “housekeeper” smelled smoke from my room. (Being a GM for Marriott previously) This was handled very poorly an unprofessionally. Amazed at what ghost was smoking in my room while I was gone but i was tired and had a fussy newborn. so I didn’t address the issue right i went to bed. Running late the next day my family and I left out around 11:02am. I didn’t check out but I did tell the gentleman at the door what room i was in and were leaving. He said no worries i let the front desk know. An hour later I check my account and there is a $283.00 charge. I immediately called the hotel and was directed to a general call center and spoke with an agent. I explained to him I would like to know why was i charged. I do not smoke so i would like to know what indications (evidence ashes, cigarettes) gave them to charge my card. Was given a case # and was told i would receive a call within 48. Didn’t receive a call. After the 48 called to speak with general manager, left a message. Haven’t received a phone call back yet. Overall i’m just so disgusted at the treatment to a member that already spent $700.00 for one night. To be charged fraudulently is insane. Now I have will be taking the appropriate actions to dispute the charge.
