Best Western Premier NYC Gateway Hotel

My family and I had an extraordinary stay. The room was spacious and comfortable for 5 people, and it's also easy to cross into the Manhattan area by bus to Port Authority.

Overall hotel was nice, but a big turndown for us was when we were greeted by an arrogant guy named Santiago. We drove for almost 10 hours and reached there tired, and Santiago was busy chatting with another girl I did not get her name but was an employee on the same night. When asked a few questions, he snaps back at us, do you want this booking or I cancel it? Can you imagine that coming from a guy who was not interested to deal with us? Santiago was so rude, I wonder who even hired that kid unless he is a owner of that hotel. I don't believe he is in the hospitality industry with that attitude. The next morning we were dealing with an Indian guy who was so nice that he even started asking for apologies on Santiago's behalf. I would encourage management to seriously reconsider the behaviors of Santiago, other than that it's another hotel.

Very clean. Comfortable. Greta location to stay at to visit New York City. Perfect for families.

This was the cleanest hotel I have stayed at in years... It was so relaxing to look around and not see a stain or a hair or something sticky. I travel a lot and I really havent been in a clean hotel like this in years. It is quiet. It seems to be kid friendly. I felt safe and welcomed. Also, the printer in the business center worked!! When does any printer work in a hotel!?!? This one did! Overall, this was an excellent budget-friendly and clean experience.

House keeping did not show up for our entire stay of 3 days. We had to request for services in person. None of the house keeping staff we saw spoke a word of English. We had to request for fresh towels everyday we were there !!! Our room was dark and gloomy. Not the best location for families in my opinion. They do not advertise that their breakfast is not included in the hotel fee. We found out it was not included after we checked in. Posted in the elevator !!! I have stayed in better hotels for less. I was very disappointed.

Nice place to stay with the family.

We chose the hotel since it claimed the room is for 5 people. However, the extended sofa bed had quite bad condition and unacceptable mattress. Even the repair person admitted that the sofa bed was not for people sleeping at all. He reported to the hotel the situation but no one listened to him. The front desk knew this but could only offered extra thick blanket. It turned out that one of our family members had to sleep 4 nights on the sofa.

The hospitality staff was tio notch. They let is check in early and gave me a coupon book for Anerican Dream mall. It was clean, quiet and my room was spacious. Parking garage was convenient and the entire stay was relaxing and ran smoothly. Was me alone with fpur kids and the pool was well maintained for their enjoyment.

Check in was a breeze. The only downside is the driveway is narrow and one way and if you do happen to be checking in during a busy time, it can be annoying. Our room was spacious for our family of 5. A living area with a TV that had half a wall to separate the 2 beds and a 2nd TV. Lots of storage space if needed as well as a fridge and microwave. The parking structure was spacious and we always found a space directly in front of the elevators. Restaurants, shopping and grocery stores within a 5 min drive. This was about an 8 min drive to American Dream which made it easy for us to come and go. There is a swimming pool but we didn’t utilize it. I did use their washer/dryer which was great but it only takes quarters. The front desk offers change if needed. The only concern we had was the excessive dust in the room which caused an allergy attack but otherwise our stay was amazing and our kids thoroughly enjoyed it.

The kid checking us in was incredibly friendly and helpful.
