Rutgers University Inn and Conference Center

The whole reason I booked this hotel was for the location and the description said it has a pool, I called the Rutgers university inn to confirm that the pool was available and was told that the pool was closed for some reason but they explained to me that me and my family would be able to use a pool at another location that is not far from the hotel, When I got to the hotel and asked what I needed to do to use the pool that they had offered to me they said that that pool was closed as well, my kids were very disappointed to say the least

The staff is very friendly even for those who arrive very late. The beds are quite small and the mattress is extremely soft and bouncy. The rooms is quite small and is not ideal for 4 peoppe. It would be a good fot for a couple woth a small child. The hotel is veeybclose to Rudgers and great for those visiting the campus.

Stayed here for one night during Parents’ Weekend. Considering how affordable the rate was, the Inn provided great value. The room was clean and had two double beds, cable TV, an arm chair with small ottoman and a usable desk. The Wi-Fi was free and fast and I was able to catch up late at night on a show that I was binge watching using my Amazon Firestick TV which easily connected to the WiFi. The linens and towels weren’t old. I brought my own shampoo, soap and washcloth; so, I don’t know about the Terra Green soap, shampoo/conditioner and lotion which are supposed to be environmentally friendly. Best of all, the staff were a pleasure with which to deal. Eric and Nick were friendly and made me feel welcomed like a returning valued guest even though it was my first visit. Coffee and tea pods were available downstairs but I didn’t buy any as I was taking my kid out for breakfast. Considering the cost of the accommodations, I didn’t mind doing without these amenities in my room or for free downstairs. If I lived further away from the campus, I would definitely consider staying at the Rutgers Inn and Conference Center more frequently.

My family stayed here for a pit stop on a return journey from a road trip and it served the purpose. The room was clean and had what we needed. The location was quiet and walkable to restaurants. It was a much better value over a nearby hotel we stayed at on our outbound journey. My only minor comments for improvements are that the fridge buzzed quite loudly and the bathroom has very limited counter space for toiletries. A shelf above the light switch would do the trick over having to put my toiletry bag on the floor. For the price of this place, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed here wile visiting family. Nicely adequate, tho a couple areas could use improvement: 1) heater choice was bake or broil - warm air came from the temp unit even when technically off. Ended up opening the window above temp unit to cool & humidify the room. 2) shower head options are limited & inefficient. 3) would be nice if curtains in conference room windows that face guest rooms were kept closed, especially since the blackout curtain in the room did not cover the entire window. Plus side: all staff were friendly & helpful.
