Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence

Was nice and clean! The young girl that checked us in could have been friendlier..she told my kids there was no pool..it was just under maintenance..which would have been nice to know before we booked lol. Other than that really cool place! Beautiful and AMAZING breakfast and breakfast staff! Hot and fresh sausage, bacon, pancakes, eggs, cereal, bagels, boiled eggs everything!! Rooms are big and showers are very nice!

Second time staying here for family trip. Would continue staying here on future trips.Had a noisy room (small kids)upstairs from us at check-in, front desk handled immediately and moved us. Very clean hotel. Smelled clean. Quiet area near many food and shopping options.

The room could have been cleaner. Red juice stains in the fridge toy helicopter left from the last family that stayed. Some kids broke the lights in the pool so that wasn’t accessible. Beautiful area.

The staff were friendly and prompt. At check in I was quickly corrected that while the listing says 1 complimentary drink per person, it was only for adults (traveling with four children). But the facility was nice albeit, the floors all through the facility need cleaning. Carpets in the halls, the rooms, the elevator, even the pool deck, and drink through at the front door. All of the floors and the couch cushions in our room were visibly dirty. The beds and the pullout bed we had all had dirty bedding on them. The lady at the front desk was the only one on at 930pm when we turned back the blankets to find it, so we just got new bedding from her and changed it out ourselves since there was still a steady stream of people checking in for a conference the next day.

Beautiful water-front and walk around the lake to a fun playground park on opposite side. The swimming pool was very kid friendly. Breakfast had lots of options. It was noisier from all the families with kids, so if it needs to be absolutely quiet for you let the front counter know before you check in, or use the provided sound maker. Great place!

Great property, staff is awesome. Easy to get to, safe location. Pool is awesome for families with kids. We keep coming back every time we come through!

Great place to stay with a family. Located in an area that is easily accessible with a lot of locations nearby to eat and shop.

Loved the lodge feel. View of a giant waterfall and lake from breakfast area. Bunk bed room awesome for family! Restaurants nearby. Will stay again if visiting KC!
